Question CXcitement models

Hey guys, I was wondering. A few years ago I bought a B777-200 at Hongkong International Airport 1/500 at CXcitement. And then just now I checked, the model isn't for sale anymore. Does CXcitement change their products every year? And what company makes the models for CXcitement? Thx

Err, no. Hogan does. Herpa at one point, for a very short time, distributed some of them.

Like anything else, CXcitement product ranges change.

Re: CXcitement models

So the models are made by hogan and herpa, what are the differences between those 2 models?

So the database is wrong then?
96 Herpa models and 3 Hogan models...

Re: CXcitement models

I think what mmu69 meant to say is that herpa made most, hogan made a few for a very short time. I remembered the herpa logo under my old CX model.

No, I did mean what I wrote, but I was wrong (I was thinking ANA).

CX were made by Herpa for a long time, and even had a Herpa belly logo. They apparently no longer do, and with Herpa using different moulds now for 747s, 777s, and A330/340s, I somehow doubt CX models are still made by Herpa. Also, there's no CX 748F model in 1:500 yet, and we heard it's because they don't have access to a suitable mould. Herpa however has a (great) 748 mould.

It's probably Hogan now, but we can't tell for sure because the manufacturer is never mentioned on CX models or boxes.

I think so, at least in part. But I'll need confirmation from someone more knowledgeable on this, eg. members Boeing 707 or explorer500.

Re: CXcitement models

I think I know, 1/500 diecasts are made by herpa, but 1/400 diecasts are made by hogan. Cuz my 1/400 B747-400 Asia's World City has plastic wings, herpa only makes plastic tailfin (or whatever they call it). Btw, I also compared my CX 777-300 with my herpa Emirates 777-300 1/500, they both have the exact same mould only with different paintjob.

I got a new info, my aunt has a set of 3 CX 1/1000 containing B747, A340, and B777, after i searched the database, turns out GeminiJets made it. So my guess is all 3 companies are making CX models.

Re: CXcitement models

Now you are mixing everything up...

in 1:500, the official Cathay models (CX Citement) were made by Herpa and a few by Hogan.
Unnoficial models (unlicensed) were made by many other manufacturers.

in 1:400, I don't know which manufacturer makes the official models, but I guess it's still Herpa. However, there are many brands also doing unnoficial models: Dragon, Phoenix, JC Wings, Gemini Jets, etc.
