Beijing shops?

Hi,

Are there any 1:500 scale shops in Beijing, China?

Because I'm going there for my holidays and I want to know if I can hunt anything called die cast plane

Re: Beijing shops?

Herpa's website lists this shop:

Beijing Yingke Railroad Modeling Co. Ltd.
CN
Beijing
+86-10-5189-3365

Good luck...

Re: Beijing shops?

Anyone knows anything about 1:500 shops in Beijing?

I tried to contact Herpa's HQ to get the answer but so far without success...

Btw, do You happen to know any aviation shops in the transit area of the DXB (Dubai) airport?

My focus is 1:500, too, but in Beijing, I abandoned that and bought locally made, in larger scales, at the civil and military aviation museums. If you visit those museums, you won't be able to resist what they have on offer.
The civil aviation museum is relatively new, not too far from the Beijing airport, and not huge. The military aviation museum is quite far out, and immense, so make it a day trip, in a place called Datangshan.
I bought an extra suitcase on my most recent trip to Beijing, just so I could bring home some of the larger models.

There are some emirates shops, but i don't remember if you can buy models in 1:500 too, but they offer models in 1:400 in good prices(only emirates models)! I think that there is one emirates shop in each of the terminals, so You won't have any problems with finding it! DXB is a beautiful airport, I think, You'll love it!

I was there not too long ago, but I did not see 1:500 models, mainly 1:200, or larger, and not much of a selection. All the 1:200 ones I had a close look at were rather cheaply made. Or maybe I missed a stalls that had a very different selection? I could only find 2 stalls.

In contrast, the CAAC Ilyushin Il-18 1:120 that I bought at the civil aviation museum near the airport is very well made, and has doors and undercarriage that open and close.
