Coltishall International Airport UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Hi all, many of you have probably already seen my model Airport in the World Model Airport Group's Thread but I have decided to make my own thread showing the construction of the diorama and the activity.
The Cargo ramp is nearly complete, there are 3 heavy stands, 4 medium stands and 3 stands on the light apron.
As for the passenger ramp, I have painted a lighter grey onto a shelf the same size as the one used for the Cargo apron and I will paint the yellow and white marker lines on tomorrow.
I do plan on using the bottom shelf as a runway but that will be decided in the future.
Anyway here is a list of current and planned airlines and cargo that will use Coltishall International Airport CLF/EGYC:
Passenger:
bmi baby - 2 B737-500's will be arriving next week.
GO Fly - no aircraft as of yet but a United Shuttle B733 may be used.
Biman Bangladesh - a DC-10-30 will arrive next month to start services.
Cargo:
DAS Air Cargo - DC-10-30F N400JR is the sole aircraft in the DAS Air Cargo fleet at the moment but they do have two ex PAN AM B707's on order which will arrive early next week to start the DAS Air heritage fleet.
DHL - currently 2 B727-200F's and a B757-200F are based here at DHL's secondary UK hub but ABX will be sending in a hybrid liveried B763.
FedEx - MD-11F N583FE and DC-10-30F N319FE will arrive next week for a pre-operations photo shoot with DHL and DAS Air Cargo.
Flights will start on 1st May.
Other:
Airbus Industries - Beluga F-GSTC 03 and F-GSTD 04 are planned to arrive at the start of may to support Airbus's facility here at Coltishall, for more details on Airbus and Coltishall please visit:
coltishallairport.webs.com
We have a planned joint preservation project with Airbus to restore and maintain Super Guppy F-BPPA 02 that is currently at Toulouse Blanac, she will fly to Coltishall once airworthy but will then go into hanger 2 for an overhaul.
After the overhaul she will fly limited routes but will appear at all major Airshows in the UK.
DAS Air Cargo are based here since they ceased opps a number of years ago, their fleet will grow in size and have a range of aircraft.
GO Fly and bmi baby are also based here but will stick to flying B737's for the near future.
Here are some sample shots, really hope you all like them.
Activity updates will be posted when my next arrivals land.

Thanks Europort
Yeah this is my first, I used acrylic paints but now I have bought the same pens as the ones Charter uses so it should be a little bit better and easier this time.
Also has Coltishall been added to WMAG yet as I still cant find it on wmag.webs.com

Great layout so far, it is already beautiful! When finished we can start cargo flights between this airport and my East Midlands Airport.

Re: Coltishall International Airport UNDER CONSTRUCTION
A new unexpected airline has arrived at Coltishall!
Tomorrow sees Richard Branson arrive at Coltishall from Heathrow in Boeing B747-400 G-VROS for a ceremony to mark the start of Virgin Atlantic's operations out of Coltishall!
This was a totally unexpected event and it was only confirmed just a few hours ago.
Photos of VROS will be posted as soon as she arrives.

Re: Coltishall International Airport UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Yeah I was shocked when I was given the model by my Dad , this is the second model that he has given me without warning lol what an awesome Dad .
I got it last night but I thaught she would arrive today in daylight so the Coltishall spotters could get some nice arrival shots of her.

Re: Coltishall International Airport UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Ok just a quick update before I go to bed.
Iv painted the next shelf, measured and marked the "apron grid" (I dont know the tech name for this) for the Passenger Apron.
There will be one heavy stand to the far right of the apron big enough to handle an A380 and either 6 medium stands for anything up to a B767 or 3 and 3 remote stands to the far left of the apron.
Im planning on buying the domestic Terminal from NoPoint:
http://www.nopoint-airport.com/pd-26...c_airport.html
And create the enterance to the airport, should look pretty cool.
Here is a pic of the work done so far.

Re: Coltishall International Airport UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Looks like a nice start to your airport so far mate! I'll look forward to seeing both the airport and your fleets develop. The Boeing 767 is also now on its way to your airport, so please PM me when she arrives - it should be sometime early next week
Cheers, Cal.
