I have finished with tempera colors; now i have to check how the color is absorbed by the wood (who is porous), then i can fix the color with the fixative spray. Then i have to calculate the grass size and, finally, give a shape to this airport.

As information, i create also 1:400 scale airports. Since yesterday, the most wanted airports are:
- Pricess Juliana ( three friends have asked about this diorama, two in 1:500 scale and one in 1:400 scale);
- Palma de Mallorca (two friends have asked about it);
- Turin Airport...under construction for Mike.

About Princess Juliana Airport ( a layout that i would like to realize also for me, in 1:500 scale), it has a beautiful landscape with the sea, the beach (rocks), a street and the treeshold of runway 10, where the airplanes are landing with a lower route over the Maho Beach:
As you can see from this photo (but with Panoramio is easier to see), the start of the apron is situated before the half of the runway (long 2100 meters), 800 meters after the treeshold of runway 10. This means that, in 1:400 scale, 800 meters = 2 meters of wood panel, while in 1:500 scale this part of the airport (sea, beach, street, runway, taxiway and apron) should stay in a 1 meter and 50 cm wood panel. I think that i could create a wonderful layout also in a wood panel long 1 meter and 20/30 cm!

The light-grey parts close to the runway are where i wil stick the grass. But what about the grass? In the photo there are two types of grass: the dark but brilliant one (on the right) or the light green (on the left)? What do you want? If you want the grass on the left (the light green) you have to wait because i have ordered it on the shop and it will be available at the end of the month.

That's wonderful Alessandro! But it looks like the touch down markings and all the piano keys are a bit too close to the center line.. maybe it's just the way the picture is made but it seems so.

Friends, this is a central part of the runway: there aren't the runway numbers because this is a small part of the runway! The piano keys are in this position also in my airport.
