This is my next project, I have taken the Paris Orly plate and put some other around it to make a Hangar Cargo area.. On the second photo you can see on the right side the DHL area with 3 large plane stands, 4 little plane stands a main cargo building and there will be a DHL Hangar..

On the left side bottom you will find the Hangar area.. There are 2 hangars for the B747 and smaller, one already painted A380 hangar and to the far left are 2 hangars for B737´s and A320´s..

If we go up we will find the normal cargo area with 3 stands for B777 and B748..

And on top the Paris Orly area with 2 large stands and 5 little stands which I will use to house some cargo planes or planes who will be parked at the airport for a few hours..

As you can see I have to paint and draw the plates nicely again so they fit together.. That wil be done somewhere this week.. I have also installed some light in the hangar and cargo building (photo will come)..

I really like your latest additions--it is a great idea to have a place for airplanes to park for a few hours in between trips. Beautiful details, superb workmanship, fantastic project!

Thank you for the kind words Pete.. I try to give as much detail and time to each plate so this will take some time to have it perfect..

Since the last post I have added some light post (without lights) and added some grass and more lines to make it more realistic..

In the second photo you have an overview of the complete first plate with white buildings which still needs some work..

After adding some French Caribbean airlines the plate makes it look really like Paris Orly..

Dankjewel.. Probeer zo realistisch mogelijk te maken..

Certainly share opinion of all (deserved) praise - from idea of combining to great finish! A splendid idea and truly marvelous.
But then, if may .... you yourself write above and though surely is how each airport would like it to look, it however just doesn't. Tarmac is just too "clean" - far from reality which I find a pity since otherwise top, top! But then, perhaps a matter of taste if seeking "model" or "as is"?

First of all thank you for your kind words and second I know what you mean.. I could say this is brand new airport which just opened yesterday so that is why it looks so clean, but I also know that you meant weathering and tire stripes.. I think that will be a thing as a finishing touch when the whole airport is complete..

I don´t know what you mean with the last sentence..??

Exactly; tire-marks, tarmac repairs and general weathering in my opinion would make it even better than already is (a Google look at say "reality CPH part used" says it all). By last remark I meant .... unless deliberately keeping as is, like "an architect's model" of that brand new, untouched airport you just mentioned yourself. Again, I salute you for your Google scouting around airports - you truly found, chose some interesting layouts and managed to do the puzzle of matching them!

Looking really good. The airport tarmac markings are great. The addition of the buildings and getting them painted will definitely add to the realism.

Thank you, I will paint the buildings and print some windows to put on them.. Ad some AC´s or rain pipes to add realism and at the end weathering..

I agree with the other friends, almost perfect and detailed service roads and taxiway/parking lines, the photo of the airport general view is really beautiful.
Just add some more numbers and letters on the taxiways.

I just added some more stand numbers and have printed some numbers for the parking stands.. Will add these in the next weekend..

I see I need to do a lot more detailing but all other ideas are welcome..

The project is coming along beautifully. Although some have mentioned adding wear and tear to the aprons, my advice is to do so on a limited basis and with caution. Tire marks are visible and recommended, but on the other hand drawing on too many additional cracks and imperfections on the cement surfaces, especially if in dark colours, can be distracting. Consider this--if we are viewing our dioramas (situated on a table at waist level) whilst standing up, our eyes are about 1200 feet above the apron in 1:500 scale. How many concrete blemishes are really visible at that height? Not too many, and only just barely. So, like I said, if you make them do so in relatively light colors and with a very soft touch. By the way, I really love what you are creating here and keep up the good work!
