First, how can i get the dimensions of the building and put them to scale (1:400) so I can begin to do a CAD model. Second, where are some good places to get buildings 3D printed. I was thinking of getting the mold 3D printed and doing the painting and such myself. I wanted to do LED lights and the whole thing. I remember there was a member on here a while back that did amazing photography using the same few dioramas over and over...so I was shooting for something like that.
I'd appreciate any help I could get! thanks
Ciao and welcome to Wings900 family.
You can use Google Maps: only Greek airports, some Turkish airport and Area 51 (of course
) are impossible to watch, because military bases.
Using Google Maps you can search the scale you want on the map (lower right) and you can go to the section of the airport you desire: according to the scale you can measure the size of the distance you cant and then transform it in 1:400 scale.
Example: if the scale of Google Maps image is 3 cm = 50 meters, using a ruler take the size of the airport section you want...for example 9 cm; if 3 cm = 50 meters, 9 cm = 150 meters...in the real airport.
meters in 1:400 scale = 150 : 4 = 37,5
And so on.
For the 3D printed terminal buildings i can't help you because i create layouts and terminals by myself.
