Beautiful layout especially with the lights and the advertising on the bridges. I'm curious to see the scenery with traffic and GSE

Re: New York Metropolitan International Airport

I think one thing that makes this appealing are the quality of your photos. Excellent array of models with plenty of action in terms of ground vehicles and airbridges utilised. The general lighting seems rather fitting for this setup.

Whoa Cal! Your photography and diorama have evolved a lot from what I remember! I love the Delta operations and hope to see a flight to sunny Las Vegas/McCarran! Great to see many new crisp planes such as the CS300, A321neos and B737MAX aircraft with old reliable 'craft such as the A340-600 and the lovely FedEx ops! An MD-11 would look great at your airport!!

Thanks for the comment Adam, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! You're right, the lighting was just right for this update - I was lucky that it was a sunny afternoon when I was taking the photos. The amount of ground vehicles and other small details like the customised bridges really make the difference in my opinion as you mentioned!

Thanks Thom! This is my first update with the new setup, so it's good to hear positive comments. You'll also be pleased to hear that Delta run a twice daily flight to/from Las Vegas - McCarran with B757-200's! Anyway, glad you appreciated the mix of aircraft types, I always try to show a good mix in the updates. I decided to include the South African A340-600 this time given that the amount of time these have left is probably limited at this point. I do have a couple of MD-11/F's in the collection - one FedEx and one Western Global, so I'll try to include them in upcoming updates.

Spectacular! I definitely concur - your photographs are quite stunning! Just zipped over from your EM link and of course will comment more later but couldn't resist a quick reply. The terminal is really a thing of beauty especially with all the aircraft and GSE going about with their normal business.

Thanks for the comment Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! The terminal does indeed look great - I really like the linear facades which allow for some stunning line-ups, while in contrast the semi-circular end pieces create some interesting parking configurations. GSE really goes a long way towards completing the scene - if you don't have any GSE this definitely needs to be on your shopping list when you make a start on your own diorama!

Re: New York Metropolitan International Airport

Great update Cal! I love the Delta lineup, the Ethiopian 77W is very nice, I would love to see it released in 1:500. The Frontier A320neo looks great, I am looking forward to adding my two to my collection. I am happy to see the South African A346, such a beautiful aircraft, sad to see them disappear

Thanks Kev - Delta certainly put on a good show for the first update! The Ethiopian B777-300/ER is actually a really nice model, one of my favourites from Africa for sure. I'm surprised you don't have this in 1:500 yet - hope you see one soon. The Frontier A320neo is also quite nice - being an AeroClassics model it's not the most detailed, but it still looks good on the airport! I'm waiting on a Gemini Jets Frontier A321 at the moment so it will be interesting to see how they compare. Here's hoping the South African A340-600's will continue to fly for a while longer, but their days are surely numbered. At least the A350-1000 somewhat resembles the beauty of the A340-600.

Re: New York Metropolitan International Airport

The airport has come to life with the planes and GSE, and the addition of airbridge advertising is a great customization of the stock Gemini setup. Your photography of the subject aircraft is fantastic, and the diverse choice of airlines made this a great update. For me, the best parts are all of the Delta birds--you have captured the essence of a busy day at the airport. I love it!
