Charter general photography.

Hi friends. I spent some days in Tuscany and in a beautiful zone on the border between two Italian regions: Lazio and Tuscany.
This is the period of the "wild asparagus", and there are a lot of celebrations in all the small towns of this territory.
Let me start with the beautiful landscape of this zone: fields full of poppies and olive trees.

Re: Tuscany, Medieval castle, food, asparagus and...Turkish Airlines.

The wonderful territory at the border between Lazio and Tuscany was an Etruscan zone, and here there was an important Etruscan city: Vulci (VIII century B.C.). Then there were the Roman and, in XII century, the Cistercian monks built an abbey (a tribute to San Mamiliano). In XIII century the abbey was transformed in one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Italy: for 30 years it was managed by the Templar then , in XVI century, it was a property of Alessandro Farnese (Pope Paolo III). Close to the castle there is anothe masterpiece: the Devil's Bridge, a bridge built in the III century B.C., that overlooks the river Fiora from its 30 meters in height.

You can't visit the Castle, but inside it there are some rooms with an Etruscan museum. But the particular thing is that when you enter you are greeted by Swallows!

You can enter until the main square inside the Castle; the rooms are closed (i don't know why, because it is a masterpiece...), but if you want visit the Etruscan museum youi have to pay 2 euro.

That sounds a bit like the National Trust in the UK where places are open to the public and are basically museums...Stately Homes etc are open to the public but you have to pay plus a lot of privately owned ones are the same as well to help with running costs...

I think that this Castle is part of the Archaeological Park of Vulci, where there are Etruscan towns (ruins), the Castle, the bridge and some woods. In one of this woods there is a very ancient "eremite town": a group of caves where some eremites where living during year 1000.

If you have the money, this "house" is sold for 450.000 euro.;)
(Tuscany 10 km far, sea 20 km far, many olive trees...).
