Pets on the airplane

Hi friends. I have seen many of us have pets. How many of you have had the experience to take a cat or a dog or other pets on the airplane? How did you find? And how the treatment on board was?
I have had an experience with my cat (Isidoro) in a British Airways flight for London. I put my cat, inside the kinnel, near to me, paying a ticket for the animal as reserved seat. My cat is a persian of 10 years and 5 kg of weight, i had no special needs for my small pet (only water).

Pet Airways is a very good project but it flyes in USA. I live in Europe and here there is no a "pet" airline. Your answer is good for who live in USA but not for me.

Re: Pets on the airplane

Another USA-related post, but Frontier/Midwest allow small pets to fly in the cabin. This is mostly relevant for small pets like rabbits/guinea pigs/cats/very small dogs. Pets over 20 lbs have to fly in the hold.

Yes, it would be a very good idea for all those people loving their pets.
