Re: So it's Christmas time again: the tree is up

Health is better than any material gift but hand made gifts are always nice too. It sounds strange but sometimes dreaming of having something is better than actually getting it (like a wife for instance) lol.
No - but it is true. With the down turn in the economy and the fact that my wife now makes more than I do - I was told I don't make enough money to be buying anymore jets.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Re: So it's Christmas time again: the tree is up

Today, during this day of December, In London... IT SNOWED! I haven't seen snow here during the Christmas season since I was about 5 or 6 or something! Usually we get it in January or February if we get it at all! Unfortunately, it started to rain a bit afterwards (just lightly) but the thin layer of settled snow got disrupted

I'm dissappointed.. here in Derbyshire, we didn't get any snow, but 'they' are sure of snow on Thursday.. which of course I'm looking forward to!
rapleylikeba, how thick was the snow.. are we talking a dusting, or a little more than that?

Nothing deep - in areas there were patches of snow about 1/4" thick. It was still exciting though. Hopefully tomorrow, Friday and the rest of December will have some decent snow in store for us. Lol - I hope we can get 9" like last February!

Haha! I hope we have it deep on Friday. At Sixth Form, the school organises a trip out and offers several place to do activities on the last day of school before we break up for Christmas. I have opted to do outdoor paintballing. It would be simple awesome if it snowed enough to create a winter styled battlefield. Muddy, sludgy, snowy, and smelly.. what an excellent combination at Christmas time.

Your teacher told me that you are getting out early so you can go to the auditorium and sing Christmas Carols.

The west of Scotland where everyone thinks we are knee deep in snow, but where we are, it's very sheltered, so we hardly see any of the white stuff.

On the surrounding hills and mountains, yes, but down on the ground?? no.

I certainly hope not! The only singing I want to be doing is to the 'modern' songs on the drive there and back.. with my cronies/buddies! LOL

Great, there's nothing like settled snow. You wouldn't want that snow to somehow become unruly, restless and eventually unhinged.
