Depends on the downloads, but aircraft are fairly easy, you just put it into the appropriate folder in the "SimObjects" folder in the main directory where FSX has been installed. Previous MSFSs use the "Aircraft folder" instead. You also must consider other folders as well, such as the gauges and effects. The creator will often have these labeled in the folder they should go. As for other stuff, it should be described in the "readme" folder of the object you downloaded, or it can easily be looked up online, like going into a search engine and typing in "Installing [whatever you need to install] in FSX."
As for landings, depends on different aircraft, but I suppose trying out the lessons to get the hang of it wouldn't hurt, but a perfect landing in my opinion, saying it's a beautiful clear day with very little wind, would be on the center of the runway with the VSI (Vertical Speed Indicator) being as close to zero, while still descending. Otherwise it's something that should be practiced frequently, though I'll tell you, even though in FSX, flying helicopters has been made much easier (I'm not sure on realism though to be honest, but it feels like a Bell 412 Sim I tried out in an Industry Convention a couple months ago, so maybe it is more realistic), landing exactly where you want can still be a challenge.
Screenshots, I like how MS made it really nice to take multiple screenshots in FSX. As a default, this key is attached to "V". Once you take a screenshot, it should be in either "My Pictures" or "Pictures" folder of Windows (depends on what version you're using, in Windows 7 and I think Vista, it is the latter. In Previous versions (XP and before) it is the former). As for FS2004 and before, the way to take screenshots would be by pressing the "Prt Scr" button on your keyboard and then putting that screenshot into MS Paint and saving it (this method will only allow one screenshot at a time.)
