PT-TAA British Airways custom models

I'm happy to share my last finished custom: British Airways A320-100, reg. G-BUSC, named 'Sydney 2000', with 'Teaming up for Britain" stickers. This is the first A320-100 in 1/500 scale.
Only 21 A320-100 have been produced, delivered to Air Inter, Air France and British Airways (as result of the acquisition of British Caledonian).

I've removed the wing fences using a stone disc, in the same way I've did in 2009 to make an A310-200. Then I've retouched the paint on the wingtip using a small brush.

Looks Great!!! I saw a BA A320-100 at Manchester a few years back, when they still operated them.

Great stuff. Just to let you know I am out of the country for three weeks from next Tuesday. So if you need anything you need before then let me know

But I haven't enough time to make it, I have a large queue of custom orders to finish and deliver, maybe by June I can finish it, together with another BA A320.;)

British Airways A320-200 'Crossing Borders' 1/500

Just finished custom: British Airways (British Mediterranean Airways) A320-200, reg. G-MEDD, in World Tail 'Crossing Borders' colors. This is one of my favourites World Tail schemes and I must confess I'm becoming addicted to it, sure my wife already is. But I've noticed some inaccuracy on the decals, so I had no choice but to hand paint the missing grey 'chain' pattern in the bottom of the art on the fuselage, grrrrr... Wasn't an easy task but looks better now. Your comments are always welcome.:)

British Airways ATR-72-200 'Benyhone' 1/500

After a two-week delay here's my last finished custom, a British Airways (Cityflyer) ATR-72-200, reg G-BWTM, in World Tail 'Benyhone Tartan' colors. This one was quite complicated to make due to the tail decal and, comon to all my ATR customs, the new main landing gear and front gear doors. Enjoy!:envy:

Unfortunally I haven't a good camera only a compact that cannot make macro pics. But I remember I've taken pics of the works of the CO Express ATR-42 main gears in 2009, it's basically the same, altough improved, work on the later ATR customs.

Unfortunally no, coincidentally I was thinking about a Dash 8 with 'Colors Down the Side' tail.
This will be for the moment the only tail available for the ATR and is available to be ordered. Some BAe 146-300/RJ100 are planned for next year and I can tell next World Tail will be a Triple 7 'Chelsea Rose', next A320 could be 'Rendezvous'.

Must be even more fiddly working to these smaller aircraft as opposed to a 757, 777 or 747

British Airways Concorde 'red tail' 1/500

Here's another one of my last finished, a British Airways Concorde, reg. G-BOAC, in 1974 'Negus Negus' (red tail) colors. At last another of my dreams come true!:tt1: Other than the new livery I've added the front gear doors and I'm considering the possibility to add the tail wheels. This project was postponed for so long, it's the first Concorde custom (the second on my collection) and sure many others will follow.Enjoy!:envy:

One question Sergio,

What models did you use as donor to this beauty?

PT-TAA 02-17-2012 04:49 PM

Re: British Airways 777-200 'Chelsea Rose' 1/500

I've used Air France 772 F-GSPL, had to paint the belly, engines and the stabs, the later on AF are white, on BA they are grey like the wings.

Xogum 02-17-2012 05:07 PM

Re: British Airways 777-200 'Chelsea Rose' 1/500

Nice work Sergio. I asked this because wasn't seeing any B772 in 1/500 scale with a blue belly and old dark grey gears. I could use the BA B772 with normal livery, probably you wouldn't have too much work painting the belly with the right blue.

Already tought about this, but BA 772s are becoming rare and expensive as donors.

Depends on what you want: my stock of letters and numbers is very limited, so I have to see first some pics of what you need and check what I have with me, before say "yes" or "no". I don't print my own decals.

I mean for example:
-I have 1 Finnair ERJ 190, and I'd like to have them more 'cause I really love this model :D So if I buy a Herpa model with the same registration, can you change (If i will buy it) from the "OH-LKP" to OH-LKH in every place where the registration number is? :)

Thanks a lot :)
Greetings

Well, I'll check the regs. font to see what I have on stock and you be back to you. But is really worth to spend all shipping costs to and from Brazil only for a reg changing?

A Delftblue 767-300 is on the pipeline... but at the moment I have no 763 donors...well, I have two IF500 BA 763 that could have been perfect as donors but I can't remove the stabs, if I put more strenght they can break, so they are useless as donors for me..:(

British Airways World Cargo 744F 1/500

At last I finished this 744 freighter: here's a British Airways World Cargo 747-400F, reg. N495MC, World tail "Chelsea Rose" colors, with "Operated by Atlas Air" stickers, 1/500 scale. This was my first try with a plastic made fuselage and wasn't easy as I had anticipated: the white paint over the plastic areas is really fragile and I had to repaint the fin and nose, was quite difficult to make the retouchings into the blue paint, without damage the white. Because the donor was an Air France Cargo 744F (white stabs) I had to remove and paint in grey the stabs, then painted the corroguards. Anyway I'm really happy with the results and I hope the new ownwer will be happy too.:)

Thanks, dear friends! Yes Allan, it's the one you sent me, actually I already have ordered another AF Cargo 744F, but the one you sent me arrived first. In February I've ordered a Cathay Pacific 744F to become a donor, ignoring the existence of the AF 744Fs, but it never arrived, I'm now in dispute with the seller. On the other hand was better it hadan't arrived before the AF 744F donor: the Cathay 744F has RR engines (I would have drained my CF-6 stock) and has a big portion of the fuselage painted, which would made this project even more difficult.

Edit: my next open nose custom will be a 742F from an extinct airline... maybe by the end of August or September I can make it.
