Re: PT-TAA British Airways custom models
The tenth is a 747-400, reg. G-CIVO, World tail "Benyhone Tartan" colors, 1/500 scale.
Received by BA on December 1997, was repainted to "Union Flag" on May 2003. The real propliner was the 6th Saab 2000, delivered new to Crossair on August 1994, as HB-IZC, transfered to Swiss on March 2002, returned to Saab (SE-006) on August 2003, to Soder Air as OH-SRC on December 2003, back to Saab again on May 2004, taken by Eastern Airways on March 2005, as G-CDKA, leased to BA Cityflyer on May 2015, returned to Eastern Airways on June 2018 and then stored at ORB on August 2018. My second 3D printed model after the first, unpleasant try, with an Air Baltic Bae 146-100 from many years ago. Now that the material has been improved the results are much better, the paint dries normally. Even with the improvements some of the flaws still remain, such as the quite rough surface (more intense on some models) and on few models there are some print defects which need to be corrected, which means extra work. Anyway the final results are much better and this turned out to be my top favourite of the batch. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1934/...d6ac62c5_c.jpgTXC0359_British_Airways_Saab_2000_1 by Sergio Teixeira, su Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1978/...14cdfa02_c.jpgTXC0359_British_Airways_Saab_2000_2 by Sergio Teixeira, su Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1951/...f34eac2b_c.jpgTXC0359_British_Airways_Saab_2000_3 by Sergio Teixeira, su Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1975/...f28d35da_c.jpgTXC0359_British_Airways_Saab_2000_4 by Sergio Teixeira, su Flickr Family picture, with A320-100 G-BUSC (lower left) included. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1968/...69a47acb_c.jpg12 World tails 1 by Sergio Teixeira, su Flickr |

Such an excellent batch of BA World Tails! I really liked the idea, too bad Mrs. Thatcher didn't
Sadly, the Jumbo BDXB is indeed in bad shape at Xiamen airport. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8443148 |
Re: PT-TAA British Airways custom models
That's a lot of great customs there Sergio! The iconic World Tails by BA are absolutely well represented in this batch, not only including a lot of different tails but also a lot of different aircraft. I didn't even know BA used to have CFM56 powered A320s.. You learn something new every day!

Lookds bad indeed. If they dont have any use for it, I will see if I can free up some space here  Actually I own that very plane in 1:36, she used to be in the BA HQ before they phased her out. Very rare as Sergio said, only one in Union Flag. Nice job Sergio, while Landor is unbeatable, these liveries are still proving to be popular or interesting 20 years later. |

Great job on the customs. I love the Poppy livery, they often get overlooked by model manufacturers. I also like the Grand Union livery, especially as I live near the Grand Union Canal which is what the design is based on.

WOW Sergio, good to see the BA B767 in the Russia World Tail...sad to see her leave the fleet! G-ZZZC is a rare bird as it is still one of the earlier B777 (non-ER ones) in the BA fleet which won't be with BA for long...G-VIIM and G-VIIN are fabulous as well, the collector who has ordered them has great taste!!! The last pic reminds me of London Heathrow from the late 1990s with so many colourful World Tails, too bad someone didn't like them!!!

Re: PT-TAA British Airways custom models
Very neat models Sergio, the tail looks amazing with the Union Jack livery. The white engines and horizontal stabs add for another level of great detail!

Re: PT-TAA British Airways custom models
Here's a 747-400 in the "Asia" brand of BA: she's registered G-BNLI, wearing the 1997 - World Tail Benyhone colors (a simplified version).

Re: PT-TAA British Airways custom models
Looks neat Sergio! Back when all European flag carriers had an asia division; British Asia Airways, KLM asia, Air France Asie and Swissair Asia.. Looks stunning to coincide with BA's 747 retirement!
