Any in-flight models sold onboard Emirates/Qatar?

I'm just told that I'll be on business trip to the Middle East next week, & I'll be flying on Emirates & Qatar Airways. Just wonder if there are any 1:500 models sold in flight now for these airlines? How are the prices looking compared to getting regular Herpa releases?
Also would like to check if there are any shops selling 1:500 models at Dubai & Doha?
Thanks!

This is the inflight shopping magazine from Emirates, looks like there are no 1:500 models, they do sell pens for over $800 lol

http://content.emirates.com/download...collection.pdf

Qatar however, does sell 2 1:500 models, an A380 and a B787, but these look horrible (page 121)

Re: Any in-flight models sold onboard Emirates/Qatar?

Emirates does not sell any 1/500 model neither on boar neither in DXB (they have a official store but only sells 1/400 and 1/200 models.

Qatar used to sell a nice 777 and A330 models but have now been replaced by two ugly toy aircrafts (however marked as being 1/500).
You may find models in the Qatar Duty Free of DOH

Re: Any in-flight models sold onboard Emirates/Qatar?

During my layover in DXB late 2013, I was able to locate a rare 1:500 EK 77LR. As mentioned by Wingslover, most if not all are now 1:200 and 1:400. Sad...

Thanks for all your replies! If that's the case I should be shopping something else for my wife at the duty-free then...

Thanks for your reply fgtmsnazz! Just wondering if there's any model store at the MNL airport terminals? I just learnt that I'd be having a layover at MNL on my last day...

Hello G-VFIT! Unfortunately there are no model stores in MNL airports. In fact, the only official Herpa distributor in the country is Glorietta Mall (Lil's Hobby Center), however all models for sale are either OG or old - not unless you are looking for an old model. There is another store called Hobbiestock Collectibles in the same mall but they sell 1:400 and 1:200 only.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks mate! I don't think I'll have time to deep dive into your home town though as I'll be arriving MNL late night & then leaving for home the next morning. Sounds like the official Herpa distributor in Philippines hasn't been importing any new models then.
