My Top 10 used models in 2020.
This year I started adding a few new types of aircraft to my fleet. I started buying the A340 as early as December 19. In the course of the year the A310, A350, 737-700 and 737-900 were added. So here is my top 10 used aircraft.
Number 10
518055 Goverment of Brunei A340-200 from 2010.
What applies to all planes in this list, I like planes that have as little white as possible. Here, above all, the elegant appearance of the A340 with four engines comes into play and the rather classic yellow paintwork, a color that is far too rare in aviation.
Number 9
528184 Vietnam Airlines A350-900 from 2015.
For a long time, the design of the 787 stood above the A350 for me. In the meantime, that has turned around. This is also due to the increasingly colorful paintwork on the A350. I think the plane is simply colorful with the blue color scheme of Vietnam Airlines and the golden accents.
Number 8
531344 Malaysia Airlines A350-900 Negaraku from 2018.
From Malaysia Airlines I only had the blue A380 and the red 747-400. This plane now combines the two colors. I hope to have another model from Malaysia in 2021.
Number 7
528412 Delta Airlines A310-200 from 2016.
I actually got the plane for free from Herpa when I entered the WingsClub. The mold is really good and better than the A300's. The paintwork from Delta also completely convinced me. That's how I started collecting A310s. Good move Herpa, good move.
Herpa now only has to bring the A310 onto the market. I have already found enough planes on Planespotters.
Number 6
520799 Royal Jordanien A340-200 from 2011.
In my opinion, a classic paintwork in gray with accents in red and gold. In addition the appearance of the A340-200. Just a good combination. The 787-8 cannot keep up with that.
Number 5
524506 Azerbaijan Airlines A340-500 from 2013.
The second model of my Azerbaijan fleet. The 500 isn't as handsome as the 600, but the color scheme easily makes up for it. Nevertheless, I would like to have the A340-600 from Azerbaijan Airlines in 2021.
Number 4
517812 Lufthansa A310-200 from 2010.
Yes, ok, I'm from Germany and Lufthansa is a German airline. But it was really not easy to find the model from 2010 and get it. But the model is really well printed and the blue window line is just wonderful. The model also looks great next to the retro 747-8.
Number 3
523738 South African Airways A340-300 London Olympics from 2013.
Probably the most colorful aircraft from SAA. This and the next two models are not exactly easy to get from anyone. So I am very happy to have the plane here. It's just colorful.
Number 2
Qatar Airways A340-600 from 2012.
The A340-600, in my opinion together with the 747-8I the most elegant aircraft in the sky. At least in real life. The A340-600 far surpasses the Herpa 747-8 mold. In Qatar's gray and purple livery, the plane always cuts a fine figure. By far the most beautiful model from Qatar Airways that I own.
Number 1
Etihad Airways A340-600 Formel 1 from 2011.
I'm a clear fan of the new Etihad livery, as many people know. Whether in gold, green, blue or silver like the new F1 airplane. However, they are all surpassed by the A340-600 in Formula 1 livery. After 8 months of searching, I was finally able to call the model my own in the summer.

Nice collection, Marvin !
I particularly like the Royal Brunei, it was such a beautiful livery compared to today
Todays livery is so crappy...
Delta and Lufthansa are also fantastic models and livery.
There are some nice A310's existing already, check the Database.
KLM, Pan Am, SIA, Biman, S7, British Caledonian, Luftwaffe.....a lot of nice ones.
But fully agree, there is a lot more potential for the A310.
I hope Herpa will keep using the nice mold....

I would like to see THY, Royal Jordanian, Qatar, Air Plus Comet or TAP with A310.
None of them very likely though....

I think this airline finally realized a much more interesting livery! This was originally a special limited-time livery, but over time become applied to a lot more of their aircraft. Apart from the A350 in this Negaraku scheme, there is also the A330-300. Further, two of the A333s have modified ones: Negaraku+Oneworld and Negaraku+Harimau. I would not complain if any of those made it in our scale.

Hi Marvin! You should post pictures of your models instead of pictures of the real airplane
And why not even a thread with pictures of your whole collection?
The Etihad A340 is indeed a real beauty! I'm very happy to have that one in my collection too! I also have the Vietnam and Azerbaijan and I must admit that they are beauties!

The A340-600 far surpasses the Herpa 747-8 mold.

Why do you think so? To me, the front gears of the A346 mould are way to high and I honestly don't see any major issue with the 748 mould.
I would personally have preferred a Qatar A340 in their later livery (with the smaller oryx logo). That would make a stunning model!

Agreed once again. The current A330/A340 mould used by Herpa still have too long gears.
I don't see any issues with the 747-8 mould... maybe the crooked engines and badly positioned cockpit windows sometimes, but these are not mould issues.
The nose gear was also too long in early releases, but this seems to have been corrected lately.

Vietnam Airlines and Malaysia Airlines A350-900 rule, then the A340-200.
Great choices.
Happy New Year Marvin.

My A310 collection now includes a few models. Delta, Britsh Caledonian, Lufthansa, KLM, Pan Am, CSA, Aeroflot, PIA and Tarom. When looking for Herpa, I'm only looking at the models from S7 Airlines and Iran Air. But there is a lot of potential. Lufthansa in the newer livery, Condor, Emirates, Qatar Amiri Flight, Air Comet, TAP Portugal old and new, Austrian Airlines, Royal Jordanien, Air Afrique and many more.
