Re: Herpa July/August 2020

534420 Etihad 787-10 Greenliner A6-BMH Yes, it´s a very nice colour scheme. Hopefully the next models are the Visit x liveries.
534413 Swiss A320NEO HB-JDA Yes, nothing special, but a nice neo addition.
534406 SAS Scandinavian Airlines A350-900 SE-RSA Yes, a beautiful livery. It will perfect add my SAS A320neo, A330-300 and two A340-300.
534383 Qantas 767-200 VH-EAJ No, what about a Qantas Link A320?
534390 South African A350-900 ZS-SDF Yes, not the best livery, but it will add my A330/A340 SAA fleet.
534376 Lufthansa A321NEO D-AIEA Yes, a must have.
534369 Northwest Orient DC-10-40 N155US No
534352 Emirates A380 "Year of Tolerance" A6-EVB Yes, hopefully with the next batch comes the Astronaut livery.
534321 United 787-10 N12010 Yes, 787-10 and the new United livery. Must have. But it will not replace my United 747-400

Re: Herpa July/August 2020

Very small batch indeed, and nothing for me. However, i'm happy to see the Qantas B767-200. Good to finally see another release for the new 762 mold, which had only 2 releases (United & UTair).

The Northwest is a DC-10-40. I wonder if Herpa will correctely make the tail engine with the small hump at the front, just like the MD-11.

Thanks for sharing, Marvin.
Few models but better than nothing. I am especially happy about Qantas B767-200, but also Etihad B787-10, Swiss a320neo and SAS A350-900 are great releases.

Re: Herpa July/August 2020 News

That's a small batch, almost an achievement that Herpa managed to squeeze yet another Emirates model in there..

Nothing for me sadly.

I love the retros too--and was particularly pleased with the QF 767-200 and especially the Northwest Orient DC-10-40. I am SOOOOO happy Also, in looking at the early voting, it seems there is much interest in the NW plane. Who knows, I hope that maybe Herpa will do the right thing and at some point release a Northwest Orient 747-200 as well!

Doubt they will make another tail mold. But we can just hope.

Just for reference, the -30 and -40 compared:

534420 Etihad 787-10 Greenliner A6-BMH Maybe (depends on accuracy of cockpit window printing, engine ground clearance, chevrons)
534413 Swiss A320NEO HB-JDA Yes
534406 SAS Scandinavian Airlines A350-900 SE-RSA Yes
534383 Qantas 767-200 VH-EAJ Yes !!! (nice surprise)
534390 South African A350-900 ZS-SDF Maybe (if South African and their lease agreement survive)
534376 Lufthansa A321NEO D-AIEA Yes
534369 Northwest Orient DC-10-40 N155US No (I can’t get used to DC-10s on stilts and I hate herpas cheap Witty Wings DC-10 rework)
534352 Emirates A380 "Year of Tolerance" A6-EVB No (no Tolerance for more and more Emirates special liveries)
534321 United 787-10 N12010 Yes (but let’s see, what the final product looks like)

The good story:
+ herpa keeps up
+ Another 767-200 (using the 2017 introduced and thus far seriously neglected above avarage mould)

On the debit side:
– single aisle aircraft (only 2 in 9 releases and both with herpas NEO-engine ground clearance issues)
– Latin America (as usual a dead loss)
– Regional aircraft (where are the Embraer 175 mould toolings?)

Who cares about a small hump at the front of a DC-10-40 tail engine when so much other details (also on other moulds) are passed over without regard. The main issue of the Witty Wings DC-10 were the grossly oversized engine pylons compensated by too high landing gear to gain enough ground clearance. Instead of fighting the root of the evil herpa just replaced the worn out (or otherwise no further accessible) too long metal gears by cheap looking plastic »stilts« with too small und lumpy tires.
