Herpa COA 764 Question

Hi all,

according to the model databases a Continental 764 was released in two NG versions by Herpa, with the regs N76401 and N66051.
The latter is offered frequently on Ebay and swap meets.
But I've never seen N76401 which I'm searching for a long time.
Can someone out there please confirm that a 764 with the reg N76401 was released by Herpa around 2001?
Or are the databases wrong?

N76401 is a fake reg used by Herpa, so my guess is that it was used for sample models, and the actual production version uses the real N66051 reg.

An interesting thing i've noticed:
The N66051 model shown in database have a more detailed nose gear and smaller cockpit windows: https://www.wings900.com/modeldataba...iew-12873.html

Meanwhile, the models I see being sold have bigger cockpit windows and a much more simple nose gear: https://www.ebay.com/itm/283065927882

Here it shows N76401, maybe the model is just an example and the model sold is N76401.

Thank you for the interesting replies! Much appreciated.
I never noticed that N76401 is a not a 767 reg but belonged to a Cessna in the early 50s according to Aviation Database - AviationDB.
Hence, the model databases are misleading in not mentioning a fake reg on a sample.

I've noticed it was a fake reg because, well... N76401 >> N 767-400 01
Then i've checked Jetphotos to see the pics of this 767 and... no hits!

As far as I know, 512381 Continental 767-400 was only released with registration N66051. There have been two releases with boxes in different size ("regular" 767 size and 747 size). But both boxes show a picture with registration N76401. Maybe this is the reason ...

I never checked that 76401 is a fake registration, anyway I have both. :-)
