Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

It's the end of April and we're fast approaching the new month where the next batch of Herpa releases will be announced! Not too sure if the next batch will be delayed because of April's announcement being late, but nonetheless, let's get to the guessing!

Here's mine:
British Airways B747-400 Negus livery (We already have 2 retro liveries announced so Herpa's bound to release this one too)
KLM A330-300 new livery (Why not?)
Shanghai Airlines B787-9
Air Senegal A330-900neo (Beautiful livery and already flying)
Air New Zealand A321neo All Blacks livery
Egypt Air B787-9 (Newest operator)
Emirates A380 Arsenal Football club livery (The usual Emirates and their many liveries)
Swiss A220-300 "Fêtes des vignerons 2019" livery
Eurowings B737-800
Royal Air Maroc B787-9 in special livery
Austrian A320/A321 in new livery
Arkia Israel Airlines A321neo (Wishful thinking but who knows... stunning livery!)

Pretty well spread of big and small aircrafts. What do you guys think?

Either that or the A330-200, 777-200ER (the other one I think will be coming soon) or KLM asia 777-200ER (least likely of the 4)

They did an ATR in the past, I don't think it's that much wishful thinking.

Re: Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

Already predictions for the 09/10 2019 releases...I don’t have a crystal ball at home but let me have a go.

Emirates A380 (one of the special liveries), could be one of the Expo ones, hopefully the Blue one (A6-EOT)
Lufthansa new livery
British Airways B747-400 Negus G-CIVB
Qatar Airways A350-1000 oneworld A7-ANE
KLM A330-300 or B772 new livery
Some charter airlines and a few unknown airlines (I mean airlines not yet known to people here in Mumbai)

Re: Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

Isn't it too soon???

Anyway, here are my predictions:

A model no one wants
A model no one wants, Part II
A model no one wants, Part III - The Comeback
A Lufthansa in new livery

Ok ok, let's pretend Herpa will have a balanced set this time. Here we go:

Eurowings B737-800
Simply because Herpa releases German stuff, and Eurowings have now 737s in full colors

British Airways B747-400 "Negus"
Both Landor and BOAC already released, so Negus will surely be next.

Austrian Airlines B767-300ER new colors
European airline in LH-group with new colors. Must be released!

United Airlines B737-800 new colors
Have just been unveiled, but maybe Herpa will be quick releasing it.

Aer Lingus A330-300 or A320 new colors
Major European carrier with new livery, and Herpa still didn't release it.

TAP Air Portugal A320 or A321 NEO
Good European airline to release a NEO.

Air Senegal A330-900
A new operator of the A330 NEO, and a good opportunity to release African stuff.

Delta B767-300ER or B757-200
Just because these two are painfully overdue by now.

and also: 1 Classic release, 1 military release, 1 release from Asia and 1 from Latin America.
I'm also hoping for more ATR releases, and hopefully two 737 MAX models. Ok, am I dreaming too much?!

Re: Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

Only felt like 5 minutes ago it was 07/08 set.

Anyway my choices might be a little optimistic, but whatever

Austrian A320 or A321 New Colours
British Airways 747-400 "Negus" or A319 "BEA" or A321NEO
Air Senegal A330-900NEO
Egyptair 787-9
TAP A320NEO or A321NEO
Eurowings 737-800
Arkia A321NEO
Air Mauritius A330-900NEO
Azul A330-900NEO
Evelop A350-900
La Compagnie A321NEO (First A/C due in June)
A lufthansa or Emirates of some sort.
I'd personally like a RAF C-17 re-release.

Last edited by Easyjet; 04-29-2019 at 06:23 AM. Reason: Added LA Compagnie A321NEO

* More new Lufthansa is always a save bet (A321? CRJ900?)
* Loganair is taking over the Embrair from BMI, making them look very Scottish now.
* United has a new paint scheme with the waveline now for all models, a bigger logo and no more gold – 737-800 for a good start.
* Eurowings with 737-800.
* Also more 737 MAX wouldn't be totally unexpected.
…and for a personal wish: re-release Air Baltic A220. Impossible to find them any more.

Now somebody only needs to add some news about wide body models. And historics are unpredictable.

Re: Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

Lufthansa (maybe even A320 "Say yes to Europe")
Qantas
Emirates
Eurowings (Privatair) B767-300WL HB-JJF TUI/Eurowings special livery (Herpa releases all Eurowings models and this is missing)
or
Eurowings A320 "Hertz" yellow livery
or
Eurowings B737-800WL

Il-18...
Tu-134...
for both these models Herpa seems to have a new love and the manufacturer is focused in their production

P-3 Orion...
C-160 Transall...
C-130 hercules...
C-17...
A-400
one of these military models, Herpa seems to have a new love for them and their production

…also see the flags. Perfect would be a release before the election (May 23th), but that would be difficult. A release in September however is quite late for this…

Re: Herpa Wings News 09/10: Predictions and Why

A400M Luftwaffe (528719-002) [not my collecting area but the first two versions were sold out quite fast]
388 Emirates »Expo 2020« [again nothing for me however a must for collectors loving Emirates, the 388 and special liveries]
359 Philippine Airlines »Loves Bus« [in accordance with herpas bad habit of releasing the special livery first]
789 Egyptair [to include an African airline and cover up the fact of another Eurocentric batch]
772 Austrian »60th Anniversary« [the kind of model I usually avoid (bad mould + special livery) but sadly a logic starting point for Austrian and their continuously revived liveries]
339 Air Asia [after the release of several Air Asia models a logic choice for herpas new A330-900 mould]
332 Level (operated by OpenSkies) [as the OpenSkies brand disappeared shortly after the 75W-model came out this is another chance to bet on fleeting trends]
762 US Airways (latest colours) [the token historic model of this batch]
32Q American Airlines [the 321 is long overdue but in February American Airlines received its first A321 neo which is why an AA 321 is becoming increasingly less likely]
7M9 Sun Express Deutschland [new mould (737 MAX 9) + Deutschland = sufficient release arguments]
7M8 Ukraine international [new mould + neglected country = surprise (but there is no batch without surprises)]
32A Swiss [the A320 Swiss with winglets is long overdue]
320 Aer Lingus (new livery) [I’m surprised that last year’s A333 is not already out of stock but nevertheless think it’s time for another Aer Lingus release]
7S8 United [herpa missed the B737-800 split scimitar winglets »launch customer« version, so now it’s time to catch up on the 7S8 United with new colours]
73H Eurowings [I’m not sure about the future of the former Air-Berlin B737-800 in the Lufthansa-Group, but herpa likes to release models with short-lived liveries and after all it’s a German airline]
E95 Air Dolomiti (new livery) [the old version sold comparatively well]

Disclaimer:
Above list has not been edited by LeoMuse747 and may contain errors.
The author is a proven poor batch predictor. The actual herpa Wings News 09/10 release batch may differ dramatically.
