Re: Asiana A330-300 HL7793 Phoenix 11106 April/ June 2015

I don't think you understand. It doesn't matter if yours is OK (which it isn't, dust in the paint, marks in the tail and a bent wing). It's the fact that way too often far too many people are getting bad models. I get loads of emails and DM's from people who don't like to go on forums or reply to postings who send me photos of far worse than even I've seen.

Someone told me the other day that because ALL Phoenix A330's had gaps in the wings that it was basically "well that's what they're like so why moan about it?" For gods sake we all pay way to much money for second rate dross and then let the manufacturers rake in millions of dollars in profits on the backs of sub-standard product. If you don't point it out, if you don't make them listen through their wallets, they won't get better.

It's no coincidence that Phoenix dropped their standards right when their most worrying competitor - Witty, who's models were fast becoming the best on the market, had to close due to unpaid taxes and alleged bribery charges in China. They dropped their standards to make more money with one less competitor to worry about.

This is about ALL of us getting good models, not 1 in 10 of us! I've made my point and there will be no further comment from me in this thread.

We share our opinions and our comments. I understand what you mean, and you write and say what i write and say about Herpa and its "monsters". I come from the 1:500 scale, where Herpa has a lot of problems and, especially in the last years, it is really difficult to have a model almost perfect and without flaws or defects. So maybe i show all my ignorance about 1:400 models and world, but i can say that the Asiana A330-300 is nice and the defects are not so important as many of the 1:500 models made by Herpa. Personally speaking i really love the models of the 1:400 scale.
