Re: "Homzie's 1:400 and Beyond Speedbird Fleet and More..."

My friends, I have started to collect North American airlines such as Air Canada, WestJet, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines. However, I used to collect a few of them in the past. However, my North American fleet is not yet complete which will be complete soon. This picture (which features my US based fleet) was taken before the arrival of the Delta A321, hence, it doesn't have the A321.

The models featured here include my favourite North American aircraft, any guesses???

Hope you all enjoy this update, until next time! Arrivederci!!! I have a few models to look forward to

Now for the photos...

Best Regards,
Homzie.

Re: "Homzie's 1:400 and Beyond Speedbird Fleet and More..."

This is a nice selection of models representing the three US legacy carriers that you've started to collect Homzie - I never knew you had two Delta B747-400's in your collection! Will you be spotting Delta's B777-200/LR's once they begin service to Mumbai? Perhaps it's time to add one of those to your fleet too..!

Looking forward to seeing all of your Emirates Expo 2020 B777's arrive, and, I'll also be looking forward to finding out which models made it on to your top ten of 2019 list!

Thanks Cal. I think I shared the Delta B747s earlier on this thread IIRC. Actually, the N668US is one of my fav non BA B747s in my collection and that includes KLM & Lufthansa! Unfortunately, I wonít be adding the Delta Airlines B777 as they donít fly to Toronto. However, Iíll certainly be spotting those from time to time.

As for my top ten for 2019, Iíll give you a hint. One of them isnít in my fleet though the aircraft is in my fleet. The other 9 will be revealed sometime next week. Do I have to select the top ten from those released this year or those I received this year? All I can reveal that the list will have the most variety in years!

As I mentioned on your thread, Iím taking a break from collecting to concentrate on the airport. Iím debating on the Caribbean B737 but she wonít join the fleet and neither will the DELTA B767 as I want my diorama to be as realistic as possible.

The airplanes and schedules are ready. I just need the airport terminal and apron to be ready which wonít be easy. Iíll need your help if u donít mind. Any suggestions and tips on how the terminal should be constructed? Sorry if Iím asking many questions.

I really enjoyed your latest update. Iíll look forward to your top ten for this year, my friend.

I'm sure you have shared the Delta B747-400's before, although I don't think you've shown them as a pair before..! Delta's B777-200/LR's are great-looking aircraft so I'm sure these will be a pleasure to spot in Mumbai!

Regarding the Top 10 list, I would be inclined to say that the list should really contain models that were released in 2019. Like you, I have added many older-release models to my collection this year, however, I will try to reserve the list for the new models that were released this year.

About your Toronto diorama, I have posted some tips for you on my New York diorama thread. If you need any more tips to get started just let me know. Wings 900 is all about sharing tips and ideas - if you have any more questions feel free to ask them in the forums as many members here are quite experienced with diorama's as you know!

Thanks for your tips on the airport, Cal. Theyíre extremely useful but Iíve yet to decide on the material to be used for the construction of the Terminal building. I just landed from a short trip to Calgary via Toronto and I paid attention to the YYZ Terminal and itís shape and dimensions. Naturally, my Terminal wonít be so big! Iíll probably start construction in early 2020. I flew to YYZ on Air Canada (B777-200/LR) which took 16 hours each way. Luckily I was in their Signature Class (Business Class) so, it wasnít so bad.

About my list, Iíve gone for top 20 as opposed to top 10 because there were too many models to leave out. It was an easy decision to make but their final position were difficult to decide. Today, Iíll share part I - #20 to #11.

Re: "Homzie's 1:400 and Beyond Speedbird Fleet and More..."

My friends, it is that time of the year again when one enlists their top aircraft models of the year. 2019 has seen many wonderful models including a few gems from a new manufacturer NG Models. Due to circumstances beyond my control and my future YYZ Airport, only a few models landed in my fleet.

Unlike previous years, Iíve gone for a Top 20 and only regular releases which were released in 2019! Here are #20 to #11.
20. Emirates B777-300/ER Mobility/Blue Expo2020 (GeminiJets) A6-EPK
19. Air Canada B737-Max 8 (Phoenix Models) C-FSJH
18. Emirates A380-800 Sustainability/Green Expo2020 (GeminiJets) A6-EEW
17. United Airlines B737-900 (Aeroclassics) N27515
16. Air Canada B737-Max 8 (GeminiJets) C-FTJV
15. Emirates A380-800 Opportunity/Orange Expo2020 (GeminiJets) A6-EOU
14. United Airlines B737-800 (GeminiJets) N37267
13. WestJet B787-9 (Phoenix Models) C-GUDH
12. Delta Airlines B737-900 (GeminiJets) N899DN
11. British Airways A350-1000 (Phoenix Models) G-XWBB

Thť #20 model that is Emirates B77W A6-EPK is on its way so, I have included it in the top 20 but donít have pictures to show for it. I have added a bonus aircraft which is not in my fleet though the registration is in my fleet. Any guesses my friends? I think you already know!

Now for the pictures of #19 to #11. My TOP 10 will be revealed next week. Merry Christmas everyone! Happy Holidays. May this Christmas bring you loads of joy and plenty of wonderful aircrafts to your wonderful fleets! Canít wait to see your list...Iím sure itís going to be hard for you all to pick a Top 10! Take your time and...Good Luck!

Wonderful selection of North American airlines Homzie. You probably know which ones are my favourite. I also really like the Delta MD-88, I wish I could get this aircraft in 1:500 to add to my North American fleet. Nice to see the Emirates A380's Expo 2020, they are great.

Well Homzie, there must be quite a few models in contention for the #1 spot if you had so many to choose from that you had to extend the list from 10 to 20 models this year! There are some interesting entries in the first 10 positions though and I'm glad the Delta B737-900/ER-S made it on to the list as this is a stunning model. Looking forward to the rest of your list!

Kev my friend, firstly, Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. May it bring plenty of happiness, success and prosperity and of course, wonderful aircrafts... I know that your fav would be....hmm, let me think, the B747? The Delta MD-88 is a wonderful model and hope you find it in 1/500 scale. Iím glad you liked the Emirates A380 in the first set of Top 20. Stay turned for the top 10 next week!

Cal, Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and hope it brings to you and your loved ones happiness, success and prosperity and plenty of wonderful aircrafts, so that we all can admire them at your wonderful airport. The Delta B739 had to be in the top 20, it is such a special model. I had to think long and hard for my top ten (which will be revealed sometime soon). There are also 5 models which I would have loved to collect but donít have them in my collection. As you can see, 19 out of the top 20 feature aircrafts which will be seen at my airport! Iím looking forward to your list too...

Many thanks Homzie - Merry Christmas to you too and best wishes for the New Year! I'm sure 2020 will bring many wonderful models for all collectors. Looking forward to the reveal of the remaining positions on your top 20 list - you picked some good models for the first 10 positions, so I'm interested to see which others will make the list (I'm sure the BA retro-jets will make an appearance!). As for my list - I haven't added many models that were released in 2019 to my collection this year. A big portion of my additions this year were older releases, many of which would deserve a place on the list if I were to make one!

Before I reveal my top 10 models of 2019, I would like to put it in perspective, a comparison between all three scales. There aren’t many aircrafts which I have in all three scales but this one is one of them. I have flown on this aircraft many times recently and this airline has 115 of them in their fleet. With production to cease in 2021, this aircraft will become a rarity. The aircraft is A380 and the airline is...Emirates! Here are A6-EUF, A6-EUC and A6-EOK (A6-EOK has the Sustainability Expo2020 livery).

Stay tuned for the top 10 later this weekend or early next week! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day.

Hope you’re fully recovered, Ale!

Nice to see this set of Emirates A380's in all three scales Homzie - I have a 1:200 scale Emirates A380 in my collection too and it's incredible! 1:400 Scale A380's aren't small, but seeing one next to a 1:200 Scale A380 makes it seem tiny!

I agree with you, Cal. that A6-EUF makes A6-EUC look so tiny! A6-EUF is the largest aircraft in my fleet with WestJet B737-800 (Herpa500) being the smallest. As regards other comparisons, I can do the same with Lufthansa B747-8i, British Airways B777-300/ER and British Airways B747-400.

Regarding my top 10, I'll reveal them around New Years Eve, any guesses which my #1 will be, my friend? There are also 5 models which I wish I had...but, because I was concentrating on my Toronto Pearson fleet, they didn't land in my fleet...(maybe next year!)

Re: "Homzie's 1:400 and Beyond Speedbird Fleet and More..."

My dearest friends, this is my second last update of this decade. It has been fun with lots of turbulent times as well. I have really enjoyed every second of this decade. One of the highlights was getting to know many wonderful friends here on this forum admiring each other’s collections. This is why we collect scale model aircrafts. We do it as a hobby because we love collecting aircrafts. Thank you dearest friends for such a wonderful decade, a decade in which I made so many wonderful friends such as Ale, Cal, Thom, Kev, Leo, Mike & many others. I also completed my British Airways B744 fleet, and added about 250 aircrafts to my fleet (in all three scales).

Continuing with my comparison series, here is a comparison which is special to me...the aircraft which started it all, the aircraft which gave me so many wonderful memories, the aircraft which I’ve flown all my life. This aircraft is...ofcourse Boeing 747-400 and the airline is...ahem, British Airways! Here are three aircrafts in three different liveries...Landor (G-BNLC), oneworld (G-CIVL) and Union Jack (G-CIVO).

https://ibb.co/pjVhb8b
My top ten aircraft models of 2019 will be revealed on New Years Eve!
