Re: "Homzie's 1:400 and Beyond Speedbird Fleet and More..."

My friends, I was just browsing and I have found that JC Wings is going to release (infact it has already been announced and is available for preorder at some retailers), Qatar Airways A350-900 "oneworld" A7-ALZ with 'flaps up' and 'flaps down'.

Ofcourse, the Phoenix version is available too but, I have preordered the regular one (A7-ALD), which is going to be my very first A350 model (alongwith the Herpa one - A7-ALC). Though A7-ALC has already been released and is in stock, I will receive both in July (after I return from my trip to Canada...I leave next Sunday night). I want to try out the JC Wings A350 mold, hence, I didn't preorder the Phoenix version, considering that I have already preordered the regular one (A7-ALD).

My question for you is...which version of the JC Wings Qatar Airways A350-900 A7-ALZ 'oneworld' shall I preorder (when it is available for preorder)...
The options are -
(a) flaps up
(b) flaps down

Option (a)
https://www.scalemodelstore.com/mode..._A350-900.html
Option (b)
https://www.scalemodelstore.com/mode..._A350-900.html

Thanks my friends!!!!
I hope that I'm able to make a decision after your suggestions, so please don't confuse me

Well my friend, the flaps down models look wonderful, but my personal preference would be the flaps up version - simply because all of our other 1:400 models are in this configuration. I'll be interested to hear which one you go for and which mould you prefer once you receive them both - in my opinion JC Wings have been producing some fantastic models recently. Just be prepared to wait for them..!

Indeed my friend, I've decided to go for the flaps up version which I'll purchase once its available for pre-order which could be a few months...or I could still order the Phoenix version to compliment A7-ALD and who knows, I may go for the Jet Airways B77W (VT-JET) which looks tempting...Ah!!! my wallet is screaming right now...

Cal, I'm leaving for Canada (Toronto) tonight and yes, my friend, I'm flying Emirates...I could have 3 more Emirates A380s done as customs (depending upon which ones I get on EK 501, EK 241 and EK 242). My return flight from Dubai (EK 508) is operated by B77W...

I'm expecting BA B744s G-BNLJ, G-BNLK, G-BNLO (as customs in 1:400 scale), Etihad A380 A7-API (model was in stock but requested them to ship it after I return, considering Indian customs) and Phoenix Models Qatar Airways A350-900 A7-ALD in this scale and 4 BA B744 customs (G-BNLB, G-BYGA, G-BYGB, G-BYGG) and Herpa Qatar Airways A350-900 A7-ALC (in stock but will be shipped alongwith A7-ALD). Plenty of models to look forward to once I'm back...

I agree with Cal. Flaps down models don't find a place in the airports because they have a landing configuration; maybe you could use "flaps down" models on the runway or taxiing soon after landing, but placing them in the parking stands seem a wrong thing.
So i prefer flaps up models and i am happy JC Wings produces both versions of the same model.

Go with the flaps up.

I still don't have new planes my friend. Nothing interests me with the releases now.

Looking forward to seeing the new additions - did you pick them up at the Emirates Official Store while you were waiting for your connection? Hope you had a good few flights anyway!

Cal my friend, the service makes me choose Emirates everytime...so, I really enjoyed the flights and specially Canada!!!

I did pick them (A6-ENJ and A6-EER) up from the Emirates store after arriving from Toronto as EK 242 en route to the Concourse C Emirates Lounge....

I do have a model of the aircraft (A6-EUF), remember my GJ200 model? I got to fly on my very first EK B77W (A6-EGW) as EK 508, my friend...like I mentioned earlier, I got A6-EEB as EK 501 and A6-EUL as EK 241, Cal.

I'll share the pics once my iPad is fully charged...

Lovely new additions! The Emirates A380 "wildlife" looks beautiful, I am hoping this one will be released in 1:500

Fantastic models! I agree with Kev; The United for Wildlife A380 is beautiful - it’s my favourite Emirates special livery by far. The B777-300/ER looks great too, especially with the antenna and additional details that Gemini are beginning to add to this slightly older mould.

Thanks my friend, as soon as I saw A6-EER in my hand, I knew I had to buy the model. She joins her sister A6-EEI (the aircraft is no longer in Wildlife colours, though my model is). The B777 was an impulse purchase because I was to fly on my very first Emirates B777-300ER flight (after 7 in A380, over my two Canadian trips). The real aircraft (A6-ENJ) flew the same flight (EK 508) the day before I did (July 16).

I hope this version is released in 1:500 scale too, Kev! Looking forward to seeing yur new arrivals too.

Thanks my friend, I had to but these 2 Emirates models, without which my trip would have been incomplete. I agree that this one is a special "special" livery and she looks nice on the A380. I've yet to fly on her but I knew I had to buy it.

GJ has announced A6-EUC and needless to say, I will buy that one. I've ordered the GeminiJets Emirates B777 A6-ENW last night...I'm looking forward to your updates as well.

Exactly my friend, you couldn't go to the Emirates Store and not come out without a model or two I'm glad you're pleased with your additions though, they look great - especially A6-EER.

We have some wonderful releases from Gemini once again - I'll be picking up the Emirates A380, Qantas A380 and Air Arabia A320 this month. The British Airways A350-1000 looks stunning, but it's such a shame it will have a fake registration like the Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 from the current release... I guess we'll have to wait a little longer until the real aircraft roll-out with their proper registrations.
