Didn't understand what you meant, can you elaborate?

Re: manufacturer Your Craftsman

Is it good quality? Is it comparable to gemini or dragon? Does it have big gaps between parts that make it look like a toy? It goes form $32 vs $55 on ebay from another manufacturer

It is comparable to Big Bird and Aeroclassics. I collect them wholeheartedly.

Sorry! My ignorance! I didn't know there exist a manufacturer with that name, and lack of a beginning quote threw me off...

With all honesty, compared to GJ and AC, they're unlicensed junk. People have complained about the chrome oxidizing. You'd probably be ok buying it, but I wouldn't spend 15 on one of their models. They're the same jokes that made Magic, Netmodels, later BigBirds, C&C, etc.

Just my 2 cents.

I collect Big Bird, Blue Box, Aviation400, and Inflight400, Craftsman400 as well as Aeroclassics and GJ. I recently bought two Magic as well. I am however going to limit my observations only to the 747's. Among them all, I can't see any difference with my naked eye, down to the landing gears they all appear identical. There are obvious gear differences today between Phoenix and all the rest, most notably the plastic gears of Dragon. I even have a few Hogans. Perhaps you are a more discerning collector than I am. Nonetheless, I enjoy the Craftsman400 equally with my Aeroclassics 747's.

That did clarify it for me. That brand was likely trying to play on the reputation for quality that the earlier Big Birds used to have (it was a slogan written on the box.) Looking back, I do recall that was the new ID of that company you mention. I guess like with Magic and later Big Birds, it was to throw people off.

The models made by them are not really the best out there when compared with the likes AC, PHX, or even GJ and DW.

Re: manufacturer Your Craftsman

The plane I ordered was a Lufthansa A380. There were lots of close up pictures and the markings looked real good and nicely detailed. I guess as it is painted all over I won't have to worry bout chrome oxidizing. My budget limits what I can spend...rather spend $125 and get 4 or 5 vs 1

They're alright, I have several YC400's and as with the previous poster I can't really see the difference with the naked eye. For sure, they're not a grade A diecast company and I expect they jump on the bandwagon and use moulds they've come across or surreptitiously used, but sometimes when you're on a limited budget and can't afford a model that's been and gone and now goes for astronomical amounts they're the next best thing. There are people on this forum that'll crucify me for saying that and say that both you and I are aiding to pollute the diecast gene line, but there you go, I'll just have to live with it

In every genre of hobbies there are the purists.....and thank God for them. They are the guardians of the standards. They are the source for reference. They provide much amusement when a couple of them get into flame wars over some minor point...(ie The Ship Model Forum)

Re: manufacturer Your Craftsman

G'day,

Reading this all with interest, need to clarify a few points tho, Your Craftsman isn't the same as Your Craftsman 400, that name belongs to Big Bird 2.0, and yes netmodels and Magic and C&C etc... are the same company.

Your Craftsman originally belonged to Green Base Art who copied Dragon Wings A380 with a few minor differences. They went out of business in early 2010 and their stock was taken over by Netmodels who then remainded the remaining stock. Most stock found on ebay nowadays is damaged in little ways, the wingtips broken is a standard one, another is ill fitting wings to the body with large gaps showing and also loose undercarraiges that drop away when picked up.

Still if you can live with that, they're ok models, most having a short runs of 80 models per livery.

This particular model has problems with its wingtips, hardly any arrive with them intact.

Check out wings900 for "Your Craftsman", I've been updating it with the A380's made.

Anyone who has a model by them NOT listed, please PM me as I'm most interested in getting a photo and maybe more lol

Actually "Your Craftsman" are NOT made by the same group you listed in your message. Yes in 2010 Netmodels bought this company then remainded the stock, however Your Craftsman was made by Green Base Art, the confusion sets in when Your Craftsman 400 also made A380's however their models had metal wings while Your Craftsman have plastic wings, very, very similar to Dragon wings!
