1:400 Scale Airport Structures and Accessories to fill the much needed gap

Hello all,

I am writing to gauge the interest of people in a wide line of 1:400 scale airport accessories that I want to produce and sell for enthusiasts, that other companies won’t touch or have discontinued. I find that for builders of model airports, very little exists in the way of components that would add that finishing touch to an airport. Instead, the only easy thing to get seems to be terminal buildings (huge ones at outlandish prices) and GSE, but there are very sparse or nonexistent options for things like trees, fences, catering depots, rental car centers, cargo centers, train stations, APMs etc.

I have made custom airport fences for the 1:400 scale, and to say they were popular would be an understatement; I sold out within weeks of all that I produced.

In yesteryear, Herpa produced a stunningly wide range of airport accessories in the 1:500 scale that are exceedingly hard to come by (and when you do find one it’s incredibly expensive), of which I have included pictures of below. Note that, again my goal would be to produce 1:400, not 1:500, but these pictures are to illustrate the sort of thing I’m getting at.

For my first line of 1:400 accessories, I am thinking of the following products:

1. General Aviation Terminal
2. Deciduous Tree Pack
3. Fences, lots of fence packs
4. Airport Hotel
5. Parking Garage
6. Fire Station
7. Catering Depot
Etc

All products would come painted / printed / decaled and ready for immediate use, no painting or assembly required. They will be made with plastic, balsa wood, or metal, as I believe paper, cardboard, and cardstock is too flimsy for this type of modeling.

Thoughts?
