Buying models from U.S

Hi am new to the site can anyone advise me on how buying models from the US works? Am based in the uk and looking to buy from the US it say online goods maybe subject to VAT and custom charges?

Technically purchases from outside the UK are liable for customs and tax fees. Sometimes they get through and other times I’ve been charged. This is also the case for purchases from the EU now that we have left.

Royal Mail charge a handling fee of £8 (I think) and DPD charge £11 plus whatever taxes are due on top. When the parcel comes they won’t deliver it until you pay.
