But lately at least some of the prices have literally gone through the roof (especially those coming out of China). Some of the 1:400 prices I'm seeing are closing in on what one would expect to pay for 1:200 models. Just wondering what might be the cause? Are factories in shut-down creating a shortage??
There is a percentage of sellers from there that I am almost certain are hoarding a significant percentage of production of popular models to sell at highly inflated prices (and I mean like for 100 USD+.) *Those guys* have been around for years.
I've noticed some prices remain decent, but things are getting expensive. I sort have been complaining about the prices going up pretty sharply for newer releases since 2008 when 737s and A320s from brandslike Gemini started to go up from the lower 20s well into the low 30s. Now these releaes are almost 40 new!
I guess this is somewhat expected with more loose bells and whitsles to add (antennas, rolling gears (why?)). Contrary to popular thought, very little of our models go through a machine and are put togeather by hand when they are being finished up.

Hey, model plane manufactures, how about some Braniff PZL 230Fs.
