Re: New 757 mould by NG Model

Great news for 1/400 collectors! 757 is sure underrated in this scale. I wonder if you will feature antennas and/or rolling gears? Will there be a winglet version soon? I'm hoping for a Raya B757 from Malaysia and espcially Charter airlines - I guarantee best sellers - (TUI 757, Azur 757, RoyalFlight 757,...). Hoping to hear from you and looking forward to seeing the first samples

Re: New 757 mould by NG Model

Very good news...
Hoping for indian models, what about a Blue dart Aviation 757 or some 787s of Air India or Jet Airways?
And what about the 1:500 scale?

Regards

A new 757 and you guys ask for nothing airlines like Azur, Royalflight and Blue dart - are you mad? Those would sell about 5 units apiece!

It is clear as day what airlines need to be made for a 757 and none of them are current operators. The most obvious operators required are British, Canadian and Russian:

British Airways (Landor)
Air Europe
Britannia
Monarch (original colours)
Air 2000 (original colours)
Inter European
Caledonian
Airtours
Ambassador
Canada 3000
Air Transat
Odyssey International
VIM Airlines
Yakutia
AirUnion (Kras Air)

plus:

Condor
LTU
Ethiopian
Royal Brunei
Royal Nepal
TAESA

Richard, Azur Air (Katekavia) and RoyalFlight are from Russia (they do charter flights) like VIM and Yakutia. TUI 757 probably the big seller. Also. Raya might be well-wanted in Malaysia market. I guess some DHL 757 will be nice, also?

Like those will sell any more...
Anyway, this is great news for 1:400 scale! I think the models that should be made should be of popular airlines like Icelandair and TUI that haven’t really had a real showing in 1:400. Airlines like Blue Dart and Odyssey International; do most people really know what those airlines are or were? Some retro stuff would be nice (especially some BA 757s!) but I feel the real money is in the more modern stuff, as that is the greater percentage of collectors these days.

Although I would like to know if there is a winglet mould coming?

Cheers,

American787

Rubbish - I take it you buy mainly Gemini Jets? I think you'll find Aeroclassics makes as many models as Gemini and Phoenix added together. Classics sell perfectly well and I would argue that if you want to appeal to the modern collector you are wasting your time making a 757. There is hardly any point in making a new 757 and producing the handful of secondary airlines that fly it nowadays. Not everything has to be made for the under 20s and the vast majority of major collectors are older I would say.

Azur Air and RoyalFlight are possibilities but who has been holding out for those releases exactly? I've literally never heard anyone ask for them but the airlines have only been around in their current form since 2014.

You're right I expect a TUI would sell - although frankly the airline and livery is pretty horrid. I bet a Britannia would sell just as well or even better.

One thing we don't need is more US (except for maybe some United 'Saul Bass') or Chinese releases. The coverage is pretty decent and JC Wings and Skywings are just about to release a load of Chinese 757s.
