Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Thanks Cal.

Both models are in excellent shape and built when cradle wings were the norm and the moulds were new so the wings fit well.

Another mish-mash of the Transamerica 742C. This time in flight.

Love the Speedbird Mike...and the Delta at Narita, sensational! I feel A350s are more elegant than the B787s...what do you think, my friend?

I'm a big fan of those Delta A350s Mike, your mash making me only a bigger one. The scenery at Narita is unique, with its lovely plant-art in the background. The angle on the A318 also has something special, another unique aircraft in a unique setting.

Did I say it was Unique yet?

I have to agree with everything you've said here Thom! The A350 looks great in the Delta livery, especially with the widget logo on those winglets..! I was curious to see if Delta would begin painting the winglets on other aircraft types in this style, however, it seems they may be exclusive to the A350 - the new A330NEO for example still has the plain blue winglets...

Great 'mash Mike!

Homzie, I'd tend to agree. Most Airbus aircraft, particularly the A320, give me the impression of a competent, reliable, workhorse mass transit bus as it moves through the urban streets. The A350 though gives me the impression of a real flying machine.

Thanks Cal.

With all this talk about the A350, the B787 deserves a shot.

Speaking of liveries, I wonder when United will get to the new paint scheme on the 787s?

It will obsolete this model anyway.

Thanks everyone for looking.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Nice 'mash of the United B787-10 Mike! I'm also looking forward to seeing more aircraft types wearing the new United livery - it seems they haven't yet completed any more re-paints since the initial unveiling of the B737-800 back in April...

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Thanks Cal, as always. And thank-you Vince of the Channel Isle!

Three new additions, two new-old-stock and one new one.

Needing a B747SP to fill out the collection of at least one model of each variant of the Queen of the Skies, I acquired this Gemini United 7SP N147UA.

United B747SP 21 b by Mike Dillard, on Flickr

And a mish-mash.

This Gemini Southwest B747-700 N781WN "New Mexico One" is somewhat sentimental as my wife spent some time growing-up in that state.

And a 'mash.

And finally, since this aircraft rolled out of the paint shop this week, Gemini's Speedbird A350-1000 G-XWBA.

Of course a 'mash at Heathrow.

Being a model produced before the actual aircraft came into service, Gemini missed one detail. BA decided to paint a smaller Union Flag representation on each winglet. Since BA hasn't done this often in the past, I can forgive and overlook it.

Thanks for looking.
