Re: N3424V Collection Additions

2 more gorgeous pieces of art Mike! The Lufthansa 747-8 looks stunning from the angle! The American West 757 looks great indeed, I can understand your appeal for the model! It's one of my favourite American Airlines heritage liveries!

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Thanks much Gents.

Haven't tried mashing a turbo prop model in awhile. Here's the Piedmont/Henson Dash 100 model at my ol' hometown airport.

Piedmont Henson KROA ramp combo by Mike Dillard, on Flickr

Yes, this one has some "cheating" in it. The feathered props, tires, hatches and windows are from the original background shot.

Thanks for the glancin' and the glimpses.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

The use of the original props and stairs make for a new dimension of mashes Mike. I even notice the curtain inside the cabin, or the pilots sitting inside. If only this amount of realism was present in the real 1:400 model

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Much thanks Thom, as always.

Sorry for the lack of recent 'mashes. Other projects required some work.

Here's another attempt using one of my earliest acquisitions in the collection and most likely the model most often 'mashed. The United B777-200 here in another low-sun image.

United B777 low angle sun combo by Mike Dillard, on Flickr

Thanks to everyone for the glances.

One more 'mash attempt.

Another pretty shot of a Delta bird at KSLC.

Thanks for the glimpses.

Welcome back Mike! This ‘mash with the Delta B767 is a real nice one, the model looks very realistic against the mountainous backdrop of Salt Lake City.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

That's a stunning mash Mike, great to come back to these gorgeous mashes. You should consider reaching a wider audience through Instagram maybe? Your work deserves more recognition. The engine reflection adds a lot to the mash. Furthermore I'm a huge sucker for the Western USA scenery!

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Thanks once again to both of you.

Thanks Thom for the suggestion, but since I don't produce the original spotter photos, posting mish-mashes here is really the best option. I only use base images that are shared and not copyrighted, but going to Instagram with them, I believe would not be the right thing to do, since I could not represent them as totally "my work."

Here's another gate 'mash with the Lufthansa A321 at Heathrow.

Lufthansa A321 LHR gate combo by Mike Dillard, on Flickr

Thanks everyone for glancin' and glimpsin'.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Very nice Mike, the integration with the GSE and open cargo doors in this ‘mash is superb! I actually quite like the revised Lufthansa livery, it looks really smart here against the sleek backdrop of Heathrow T2.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

I agree with Cal about the use of the GSE and doors of the aircraft, but don't really agree about the new Lufthansa livery. It will never beat the yellow and blue liveries they had before this one!

Thanks Gents.

Here's another 'mash attempt with wide angle lens distortion. The Air Canada 787-8 on short final to Toronto.

I love that angle on the dreamliner, and it's a true Toronto classic Mike! I had to look out my window to see masses of spotters there when I flew in back in 2020!

This fuel station at Toronto - Pearson has made for many great images over the years and your mish-mash attempt is surely one of them Mike! Great work as always with the perspective.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Residents of the flats along Myrtle Avenue awoke to a thick morning fog and the sound of a familiar, but not heard in donkey’s years, rumble.

The large group of spotters littered the green with soggy lens tissue as they tried to clear their lenses of the thick mist.

Then suddenly through the cloud it appeared…

The cameras, misted lenses or no, began clacking their shutters…

The Super Speedbird was returning to Heathrow.

British Airways A380 Myrtle Ave LHR combo added fog work by Mike Dillard, on Flickr

My friends, please forgive this 'Murican's attempt at British Slang. (I decided against using" 'Eathrow" with the dropped "H". I was afraid even a 'Murican wouldn't be forgiven that.

And if it looks somewhat familiar, it is an older 'mash attempt with the added fog effect.

Beautiful creation as usual but i can't give you a positive feedback: too mny times at Myrtle Avenue waiting for realizing beautiful spotter pics and, each single time, the fog was ruling! So frustrating my friend....
