Re: N3424V Collection Additions

One more new model. NG Model's Southwest B737-700 N252WN. This model is an upgrade to the Herpa Canyon Blue SW 37 that's been in the collection for lots of 'mashes. Needed winglets though and this one even comes with scimitars too. It may not be obvious from the 'mash but the model has very thin, almost delicate winglets and scimitars. Certainly the best in my collection.

Thom, I noticed you've spotted this bird at KLAS.

Thanks for glancin' and glimpsin'.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Nice new addition Mike, the polished American livery sure was iconic! Interesting observation on the engravings. I'd be tempted to say that under-engraved details look better than over-engraved details, but unfortunately it still seems to be the case that these models are rarely ever perfect.

Your new Southwest B737-700/S is also wonderful and that's a great first 'mash with the new model! This is surely an upgrade over the Herpa version - NG definitely make a nice B737.

Looks great in your mash Mike! Love the 747SP/American Bare metal combination which works well in your photo. You can even make out the reflections in the model, exceptional work!

Thanks loads my friends.

Another 'mash attempt with the SW 37.

Looks great Mike! Wish we has some Southwest 737s in 1:500, the addition of the scimitar winglets makes the 737 look really sharp.

I actually have a photo taken of N252WN! There's so many 737s in their fleet that I'm actually amazed to have a photo of it ;)

Thanks Thom. I'd noticed your shot of 2WN.

Of course I "cheated" the 'mash with the actual landing gear. There was no way to get the light effect right without them.

Here's another 'mash attempt of the new 47SP model.

Sweet 747SP mash this time round Mike, though I'm sure some exhaust fumes have ben lost on the mash!

Your new American SP is looking good in both of these 'mashes Mike! The reflections look to be really well executed in the 'mash above of the aircraft on final. Also really cool to see the SP soaring above the clouds in your latest black and white 'mash.

Thanks Cal.

Here's one for fun of the SW 37 on final at LAX and flying past the In-N-Out Burger on Sepulveda Blvd.

Fantastic work Mike! This has to be one of the most recognisable spotting locations.

Re: N3424V Collection Additions

Yes, Cal that In-N-Out Burger location must be the most known world-wide!

And now for something a little different.

I haven't 'mashed this model for almost two years, but when I came across the background image, I had to accept the challenge.

This one took more tweaking than most.

Blending tones, and trying to create some sort of wet fuselage appearance took lots of small mouse clicks, etc.

Thanks for all the glancin' and glimpsin'.

Stunning mashes in the past few posts Mike! Great to see the 747SP, MD-11 and the lovely Southwest 737 on approach to LAX!

Stunning A340-300 Mike! Love that Lufthansa and Swiss still keep them flying 'round the world! Lucky to have made my first flight on the type back in November and I wouldn't hestitate to do it again!
