Talking Hogan Landing Gear on Herpa 1:200

Hello folks,

I had some maid strikes recently with 4 of my 1:200 collection.
2 of them I got hold of all pieces and I will fix, the third Herpa will send me the landing gear.
However I can't get a replacement landing gear for the 777 model broken.

I've saw some Hogan landing gear to sell on eBay.

Is it possible to use them on Herpa?
I suppose not, but if someone had this idea before and tried it out can let me know if this is ok.

No it isn't, all the brands have their own modeled holes, for example I couldn't put my Hogan 777 gear on my SKymarks 777

Hello SMSgtBrown,

I actually thought it would fit because Hogan belongs to Herpa.
That's why.

Re: Hogan Landing Gear on Herpa 1:200

Well it may then, but its plastic, not metal, it may not support it (the Herpa 777s weigh quite a bit more than the Hogan 777s) it may at first, but the stress will make it snap. Ask Herpa if you could special order the gear, or take it off of a model you no longer care for. Thank you for bringing me to the knowledge of of Herpa and Hogan being of the same company.

You're right Herpa and Hogan are the same so there's no weight problem as long as it's resin, the only difference is that Hogan tend to be sold in snapfit (same as Skymarks/Risesoon) where Herpa are sold already assembled....

When did you bought the Herpa models? As Hogan no longer made models for Herpa since almost 3 years back.

The new 1:200 plastic models are from Lysia Group.

I don't think they were made for Herpa, they were made and sold under the Hogan brand and the new 1:200 models are the old Long and Prosper which do not include gear...

Re: Hogan Landing Gear on Herpa 1:200

Hello Raymond,

Actually, they are old models I bought this year, both 1:200

Herpa 767-300 Martinair "Fox Kids"
Herpa A340-300 Austrian Airlines "Wiener Philarmoniker"

Both are included on my list of favourites so I really care about them.

I have two new models with new gear, DHL 767 and Iberia A340-600 but I wouldn't use them to replace. I'll guess I'll try the Hogan landing gear just as a try.

Re: Hogan Landing Gear on Herpa 1:200

There's been a bit of misinformation in this thread so far. Both of your models use the old Hogan moulds, so you should have no trouble with Hogan replacement gear.

Hogan gear will work. On B767 Fox kids, I had same thing happened. Gear broke, replaced that with hogan gear. Will also work on A340 too.

The only problem sometimes you will find is that they are generic and so rear landing door color is always gray.

Nigh****ch, you are right. The 2 models are made at least 7 years back. Hogan gears should fit.

Hello folks,

it did work great. I bought a lot, and also changed all my old planes wheels. Very recommended.
