Re: Did you know ???

Since 2012 Grand Cru Airlines, charter airline based in Lithuania, operated mostly flights for cruise ships passengers.
A320, B737-300 and B737-400 in fleet, all leased airplanes (GetJet and Ellinair)

But not everyone knows that from 1988 to 1998, for ten years, Carnival Cruise Line had its own airline, Carnival Airlines.
With hubs in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale operated scheduled and charter flights with loads of holidaymakers of the various cruise ships.
A300B4, B737-200 and B727-200 in fleet.

Very nice airline, later merged with the second Pan Am.
Flew one of their 727's from San Juan to Miami, already in Pan Am colours but with Carnival Registration and Safety Cards....N609KW. Good old days and memories...

Re: Did you know ???

This one especially goes out to our friends in Belgium....

Did you know that SABENA obviously operated occasionally Lockheed L1011 Tristars ?
I wasnt aware of this until 5 minutes ago to be honest and the info is from November 1997.

Anyone of you more info about this ? I dont think they were operated in full colours....but the timeframe reminds me it could have been one of the Air Ops, Air Atlanta Tristars. Or was it possibly a joint flight with Hewa Bora to the Congo ? Cant imagine though in respect of safety concerns...

Very cool! I also remember JAL had a joint service agreement with Aeroflot.
I believe some Tu-144s even had "JAPAN AIR LINES" markings on them!

Re: Did you know ???

Not something you saw / see every day....looked very nice in my opinion.
On the other hand, difficult to make a plane like 747 look ugly.
