Re: First A350 out of the paint shop

Currently only test aircraft are being built. Some of those will most probably in later years find their ways to operators (that may or may not include QTR).

Regarding the looks: Compared to the A380, I consider the A350 to be a far better compromize between the predominant requirement to give superiour value for money and the lesser requirement to be pleasing to the eye of us fans.

And I must say I am happy about this low-key just internal roll-out with a ten minute speech by the programme head and a few photos rather than those over-confident big spectacles of some years ago.

Best regards
Christoph

re: A350: From Manufacturing to Flight Tests, First Deliveries, Entry into Service

how do the 787 sale compare to the a350 sales? I am assuming the dream-liner won?

Comparing the two is somewhat unfair as the A350 is a bigger plane (MTOW 260-300 t vs. 230-250 t for the 787).

We'll only know who won when they cease production in 20-30 years' time. So far, the 787 has almost 900 orders (since 2004). The A350 has just over 600 orders (since 2006). So the jury is still out.

re: A350: From Manufacturing to Flight Tests, First Deliveries, Entry into Service

I would guess that AF Air France is going to be the launch customer for the A-350.

This shouldn't be a problem anymore as Herpa has released a A350-mould as Snap-Fit (KLM).

Eurojet.....I read that AF Air France is getting the A-350s and KLM is getting the B-787s.
