Landor design, British Airways? No...Alitalia!

Hi.
I always thought Landor Associates, company founded in 1941 in USA (San Francisco) by Walter Landor and his wife Josephine, started its "sky" adventure with British Airways, and its iconic "Landor livery"

instead the company started with Alitalia in 1967

In fact Alitalia was the first airline to ask Landor to design an airline livery. A real pioneer, opening the way for other wonderful, iconic liveries.

Beautiful to know Landor Associates created iconic liveries like Cathay Pacific, for example, an airline passing, along with Hong Kong, from the British Government to China (1997) and the company dressed the airplanes with something intended like an interim livery, then becoming one of the most beautiful of the sky.

Or Etihad Airways, the new livery created to share desert sand and desert dunes, a series of triangles converging in a single point.

Landor was also responsible for the Varig livery of 1996, replacing their classic scheme.
Still the best Brazilian livery and one of the most beautiful liveries ever, in my opinion. Absolutely classy!

Thought exactly same thing.

If I recall well, Landor also did the Canadian livery, which was similar to BA's.

They also did Aloha, old Iberia, Philippines, Air Cal, ANSETT, Thai and Garuda old liveries, Garuda current livery, Royal Jordanian, old Asiana, S7,Song, Austrian and as Speedbird said: Canadian

Many wonderful and iconic liveries, but they also made some monstrosities.
