One of the relatively infrequent South American releases, this GOL model is certainly very nice. GOL Transportes Aereos is a Brazilian low cost airline with a fleet of 123 737NG's, and another 108 737-800's on order. This model, PR-GTF, is in a special livery commemorating GOL Transportes Aereos's 10 years of service.

Model Review
Mould and Assembly: The NGII 737 mould is certainly an improvement on the NGI hamster mould. However, it still requires some work.

The nose is the part of this model that needs work; it should be pointier. Also, the indent where the cockpit windows are placed should be lower. The cockpit windows are decently shaped, but a bit high.

Moving back, almost everything is done well. The wings are thin, crisp, and the winglets are nice, although the thinness leads to the tips occasionally being broken or misshapen. There is a nice anti-skid bump on the fuselage.

Landing gear is okay. The nose landing gear doors should be a little shorter. The nose landing gear tires should be thinner. The main landing gear wheel hubs should be a bit larger.

Finally, the passenger windows should be larger.

Otherwise, it is a decent 737 mould; it certainly looks the part. Herpa just needs to work on the nose, to get that distinctive Boeing narrow body nose that we've seen for the past few decades.

Livery: This 10th Anniversary special livery is done nicely. Herpa has reproduced the bright orange well.

Placement wise, everything looks fine, although the GOL10ANOS titles could be a little high, along with the window line. And hat could be because the wings are a little high too; but relative to each other, they all look good.

The little propeller airplane also looks pretty good and crisp, although I do think it could have a bit more contrast.

Details: As usual, details are not the greatest. A few noteworthy details:

The emergency exit print on the wing, the registration on the fuselage AND the nose landing gear doors and vertical stabilizer. There's also a "737-800" print near the nose, and it is printed very finely. And another nice detail is that the outside wheel hubs of the main landing gear are painted orange, as they should be. Finally, the doors have the detail that they should; 737 doors don't have a TON of markings, and it seems Herpa has reproduced most of them.

However, there could be a lot more; there are no details on the engines, there are GPS "humps" on the fuselage, there are air probes, all that are not present.

  Livery is nicely reproduced.

This GOL model is certainly very nice. It is a bright orange that stands out. I do like this model very much; the livery is incredibly nice. However, I do wish Herpa would have released a normal livery GOL airplane first, before this special livery.
