The first Herpa model of the Russian low-cost airline, which was founded in 1999 at the Moscow airport Vnukovo. The fleet consists of six Tu-204s of which the original of this model with the registration RA-64049 is the youngest.

Model Review
Mould and Assembly: The Tupolev Tu-204 was developed as a replacement for the TU-154 trijet. It's performance, passenger capacity, and fuel efficiency is said to be similar to the 757. Not surprisingly for russian aircraft of this time, it looks shockingly similar to the 757 - overall look of the aircraft is very 757esq - and even has the option to use the same engines.

Pros:
-The nose looks really good - this part of the Tu-204 looks like an a320 with a slimmed nose, and the model represents this well. Maybe side windows could be a bit bigger/taller
-The engines are nice and large (look oversized for the plane, imho) and are moiled well with minimal flashing
-Wing, Winglets, Wingbox - They're thin, well shaped - I'd like them thinner, but there are limitations to metal.
-Tail is done well too.

Cons:
-There is a seam line - the wings aren't inserted. However, its clean and hidden away nicely.
-Nose landing gear strut is thick and lacks detail. toyish a bit.
-Main landing gear wheels are a little small.
-Tail has some translucence - need metal

Overall, a very nice and well done mould.

This Tu-204

Livery: The red wings livery is produced spectacularly on this model. The red-wings livery is a sharp livery for a low cost airliner. Definitely looks low cost, but not exceedingly cheap and tacky.

Pros:
-Red wave is done well, spot on. nice. With small black wave above too done well.
-Logo on engines and tail done nicely, logo on winglets esp. crisp
-Wings are a part of the livery too - they have a red triangle, reproduced nicely.

Cons:
-The only negative is that I believe the model's red should be a touch darker. It's very minimal - I compared for a while, but ultimately believe the model is a bit too light.

Details: Details - not that great. Here are the good ones: Tips of horizontal stabilizer painted red, registration on wings and fuselage and tip of tail, name of aircraft near cockpit windows.

But there's so much more that could be done; why not some lights on the fuselage, some detail on the landing gear and their doors, some cargo door details, some handle details for the door. So many possibilities.

Pluses
The mould is very nicely done.
Livery is done very well

Minuses
  Wing seam is evident.
Livery's red is a touch dark
details!

Nice russian jet - unique collectors item, Monday, 23 January 2012

This is a model that is very nicely done - The mould and livery come together very well. while it's lacking detail, it's still overall a nice model. While I wouldn't get it because I do not collect such obscure russian jets (never even heard of them), this is a growing airline (44 Tu-204 on order!) that may fit well in many collections.
