The original of this mold novelty was registered in the early 70s as an air force transporter in Aeroflot livery, registration CCCP-76780. Twenty years later it was still being operated by Aeroflot but with the registration RA-76780 and solely for civil purposes. As such it is released in the 1/500 scale. Only in 2006 did the at one time world’s biggest airline divest itself of all paramilitary airplanes.

Model Review
Mould and Assembly: This IL-76 model's representation is accurate and almost flawless. The scaling is realistic and all the parts seem to be in balance size-wise. This model's assembly and finish are clean and neat for the most part, although the tail could have been better executed. There is a visible gap between the tail and the mould, compromising the accuracy of this model. The mould is sleek and the wings are in sync. The nose is perfectly executed and the pronounced area beneath it is well sized.

Livery: The simple and uniform Aeroflot livery is well represented on this model. The cheatline is correctly done but it is positioned a bit too high on the fuselage, making the gray bottom part of the livery taller than it should be. The printing and painting are excellent and of apparent high quality, giving it the impression of a nicely finish. The colors in the cheatline, engines, nose, tail, and flag were well selected and vividly match those of the real plane.

Details: The mould and livery details are well represented and scaled. The cockpit windows are perfectly placed and sized. The doors are sized correctly and their placement is precise. The registration, flag, Aeroflot logo, and titles are clear and neat. The engines are scaled properly and their colors are matched correctly. However, slightly moving the inner engines upward would be a plus. The main landing gears are scaled and well-colored but should be more evenly spaced. The nose gear is well-scaled, colored and positioned.

  Great mould
