Which war bird(s) do you prefer/love more?

Ciao my friends with a "military" soul. This war birds forum is full of interesting and great rewievs about military models but with few threads about them.
So i would like to ask you which war bird (or birds) do you prefer/love more and, if there is a particular reason, why.

Personally speaking i love the A-7

the A-4

the F-9

the F-18

the JA37

but the fighter i really love is the F-14 Tomcat:

About the F-9 i started to love it after the movie "The Bridges of Toko-Ri", while about the F-14, of course, i started to love it after the movie "Top Gun"; in "Top Gun" i also started to love the A-4.

For me it has to be the Mirage 2000. It's such a petite jet and I think the delta wing looks great.

The Mirage2000 is also beautiful and it is the example of how France is one of the few countries of the world with an own Air Force with own airplanes (Mirage2000, Mirage F-1, Rafale...).
I also love the SU-27

Yes the SU-27 is really cool!
My second favourite would have to be the SEPECAT Jaguar. British and French designed and made!

Re: Which war bird(s) do you prefer/love more?

I've made several 1/72 scale models, from revell and airfix, including a F-14, SEPECAT Jaguar and Mig 15. I will post pics when I can find them!

Re: Which war bird(s) do you prefer/love more?

My "favorite" warbird is the Mirage F1. That noise is incredible!!! Such a shame it's gone now by the French. It was one of the participans on "Fryslan Flag" in Holland every year, but now it's rare to see.
But the russians warbirds also have something special. They have that aggresive look.
The Gripen is also one of the highlights for me.
But offcourse I'm looking forward to see the F35. The RNLAF have bought them.

Well, my preferred birds shall always be those that will not harm anyone, but I must say that the B-1 bomber is a pretty sight.

Re: Which war bird(s) do you prefer/love more?

Honestly, I hate war! At least modern war. So many innocent people get killed in it! But as I do NOT want to spark another debate I will just leave it at that.

However, I really do think dog-fighting, (no not the gross illegal sport) is still an honorable form of combat as its man-to-man fighting. Can I choose WWII planes? If so, i would choose the Hurricane MKI. I started learning more about thees birds when I started playing War Thunder, (a great game) and even though I know that the physics are limited, I have a feeling it handles just as well as it does in the game in real life!

It's has to be the Short Sunderland for me. I'll go the Supermarine Spitfire as a good second!
