Hi Fraport,

what could I say about your airport??? It's AMAZING!!!
I really appreciate your nice details, it's original - I love how you used Herpa buildings to make the taxi area and the trains. What did you use for the grass? I want to know if you used glue to fix it or you cut grass foils?
Second question is: what is the material used for the airport and for lights? How you designed parkings?
You inspired me to re-make my old airport, once again great work!!!

Lollo

Fraport, this is a breathtaking display! I absolutely love the classic aircraft park and the way your Skytrain goes right over it....FANTASTIC JOB!

Sweetness! Is it based on any particular airport?

Thanks for your comments!

@lollomz:
I used sprayable glue to fix the grass. These aren't mats as I don't like the edges created by cutting them.

The whole airport except the buildings is made of wood (I think it's birch wood). I draw the apron markings directly on the wood with ballpoint pens.

Fot runway lighting I used fibre optics, the lamps at the parking positions are scale Z model railway lamps.

@a_loser:
Well, it's not really based on another airport. The terminal design resembles Frankfurt, but unfortunately I didn't have enough space to create the REAL Fraport. I would have LOVED that! Maybe at a later time....
I just tried to show as much planes as possible without losing realism.

I'm happy that you like my work, as it took nearly a year to complete it. Will try to post a overview shot today.

Fraport

Lovely airport as mentioned by everyone. Being a person with a penchant for detail, I was heartened to see the intricacy used in building, painting and modelleing the airport. An inspiration to all my friend, Keep it up!
