So if everything is 100ft or less. She lives like smack under the approach? Infact, she would have to be due to airshow regulations.

Sorry Ben, but your wrong too
It's actually Farnborough Airfield which is wholly owned by TAG Aviation, and as a matter of fact, they carry out maintenance on biz-jets. But it can be know as Farnborough Airport and TAG London Farnborough Airport I think. But don't quote me on the last one. It used to be an RAE base, and for those who don't know- Farnborough is the home of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Where our friends live is actually 'Church Crookham' - for those who know where that is

Nope.. it's not an RAF Aerodrome anymore. It was decommissioned, and bought by TAG Aviation from the MoD. It DID USED (in the past) to be an RAF Aerodrome, or more accurately an RAE Aerodrome.
RAF Farnborough was home to the following Sqdns:
101 Sqdn (VC-10)
111 Sqdn (Tornado F3)
15 Sqdn (Tornado GR.4)
2 Sqdn (Tornado GR.4)
31 Sqdn (Tornado GR.4)
4 Sqdn (Harrier GR.7)
5 Sqdn (Astor (Sentinel R1))
6 Sqdn (Jaguar (GR.3/3A (now disbanded)
70 Sqdn (Hercules C1/C3)
7 Sqdn (Chinook- now at Odiham- just down the road )
10 Sqdn (unknown)
53 Sqdn (unknown)
The aircraft is now what the Sqdn now operates. Of course, as you know- this changes time to time.
I state WAS because Farnborough was the home to the Sqdn at some point in it's lifetime, either from creation or disbandment, or just because the Sqdn was based there. So.. if the people you know in the RAF call it RAF Farnborough, they are wrong.

Shame to see those highlighted a/c go, Jag has already gone and soon Gr.4

Anyway, less a/c down there. More up here for us

The 111sqn is now (was?) based at Leuchars, but now its being shut down.

111 Sqdn is, as you said, based at RAF Leuchars but is involved in some merger with 43 Sqdn (???). But it has been around many bases including RAF Binbrook and RAF Wattisham with the EE Lightening. However, both of he Aerodromes are sad stories as RAF Binbrook is now closed, and RAF Wattisham is now in the hands of the British Army Air Corps. At both of these bases, and many others, the EE LIghtening was stationed, with the EE being my favourite Cold War era a/c. Then it has to be the Panavia Tornado GR.3 .
But it is a shame that these a/c have been made decommissioned from RAF service.
And I did not know about RAF Leuchars being decomissioned.. it's news to me.

Re: Events 2010

To settle this little debate, I live a mile away from the airstrip and my college is two miles away, it's an Airport, not airbase, it used to be RAF Farnborough during WWII, but has been converted a while back Trust me on this, I know my sh*t haha
