SYDNEY AVIATION MODEL SHOW,what did you think?

To Everyone that attended I truly hope you had a great time!
Thank you so much!
This was the first attempt at organising an annual or even bi-annual event and I think it wasnt too bad considering the bad weather which may have kept some away.
Please give your thoughts and what you think of having another show later this year around November?
Please also share pics from the show f you have them!
Once again thanks to all!!!

Re: SYDNEY AVIATION MODEL SHOW,what did you think?

I've included all my comments on the other two forums, so I'll sum up here that I felt the show was a great event, always room for improvement from the first one but I was happy enough to meet several new collectors who share my crazy obsession and also to move some of my less wanted models along to other collectors

Look forward to doing it again, just let me know!

I've got some photos (only about 5) to show, so I look forward to seeing more from the others who came down.

The banner outside the hall.

Hu's store at the front was probably the success story of the day. Selling 100 models by just after lunch was an incredible feat. The models pictured here were all $10 a piece!

A great selection of models at good prices was put on display by Ross. I know Steve K bought a few from here, and Jeff, did you buy that Korean MD11 in the end? Thanks to this store for the $50 loan at the beginning until I got my float together

Barclays RC & Hobbies set up a huge display including everything from plastic model kits, to rockets, to model accessories and R/C toys.

Our quaint little display. Mac, Jeff and myself amassed about 30 or so models for sale. Was happy to see a lot of my items move onto new customers and hope they'll find a good place in their collections. Thanks to Mac for providing the 'tablecloth' featuring Royal Brunei, Etihad (unseen) and Cathay Pacific, Thai logos

Customizedairliners' display. Untouchable collection at the back, photos, models, loads of DVD's and a handful of other models up for grabs. The only store I ended up doing business at for myself - can't wait to find some time to watch those DVD's.

That's all from me... look forward to seeing more from the others.

Dan

What a great day out... After getting underway on the 0600 Virgin from the Gold Coast and catching the rail we arrived at the show. This was the first show the lads had held and what a great effort. As with all things, a lot of work went into making this a day to remember.
Terrific to meet a number of guys who love their aircraft, and are driven to promote their hobby and share their knowledge. It wasn't difficult to find some great sale items and would have grabbed more but not enough room for the flight back.
The conversation was terrific and the sausage sizzle went down a treat.
I would like to thank all concerned for bringing this together, even though the weather tried it's hardest, it didn't in anyway take the gloss off the day.
A special mention for 'customizedairliners', who will still be packing away a truly great collection and led from the front. Thanks to Dan, Hu, Ross, Jeff and Mac, plus others who's names I can't for the life of me recall at this moment.
With the enthusiasm shown this event will only get better and attract an even greater following. Am just getting this photobucket thing set up and will post some pic's when I have mastered this technology.
Arrived back at Coolangatta airport after a very full and highly enjoyable day with one thought in mind.
Next time take a bigger bag..
My thanks again. Well done and see you at the next one.
P.S. Dan the Cathay 777 arrived this morning, thanks for the preview.

Congratulations on the success of the event !
Well done.

Hats off to the committment and "go to" attitude that formulated such a great day (so I am reading).

You deserve a "pat on the back".

Congrats again.

Re: SYDNEY AVIATION MODEL SHOW,what did you think?

Just a quick question, did anyone else get any photos worth posting? I remember there were more cameras at the event than just mine!

All I can say is that I wish I was in Australia and that I had some money.
