Dragon Wings Virgin Blue 737-800

Hey guys, I managed to get my hands on a Dragon Wings Virgin Blue 737-800 recently. I notice that there is nothing in the database for this model. Will this model be added anytime soon?

Re: Dragon Wings Virgin Blue 737-800

I just picked one up from Hong Kong - available from UML stores for HK$180 provided you spend HK$500 on other models there. Not the best deal available but it did give me a chance to get some older DWs that I wanted.

Details:

Part Number: 56180
Remarks: "2000s colours". Fake registration.
Registration: VH-VIR

Re: Dragon Wings Virgin Blue 737-800

Cougs - you pipped me to the post. Took some pics a while ago but it was a bad lighting day. Here they are anyway- and as always, Carlos, feel free to use them for the database.

The model comes in a nice, sturdy box with magnetic clasp but there are a few issues. Whilst the winglets are a big improvement on their competitors', the cockpit window frames are a bit heavy. The nose gear could also be better. The tail- fuselage junction on this particular model is also a bit sloppy and the wing surfaces are without detail and in a funny colour. It does not have the IFE hump and also lacks red wheel hubs.

The model is unique in that it does not sport the VB telephone number on the fuselage. There have been a number of aircraft that have not - notably VH-VUE as seen in this photo by Abraxas (thanks Dan!). Unfortunately it is wearing a fantasy registration. VH-VIR does not exist!

Overall - not the best B737 on the market but it does fill a gap in the market for the Virgin Blue fleet. Perhaps Phoenix will give us a standard VB B738 to rival it one day...

Here are some comparison pics with the Gemini model on the left.

Notice the difference in the winglets.
