This one's not in the database
Just bought this one, and noticed it's not in the database under Lufthansa Cargo. There is one exactly like it from Netmodels, but not Sky500. |

Re: This one's not in the database
I donīt know, but it looks like you just got the Netmodels with a box of a different model

Re: This one's not in the database
Yeah, I thought of that. I'll let you know when it comes in the mail if it has an @ on the belly. I've noticed how there's been a lot of models (both 1/400 and 1/500) on Ebay (for example) that don't come in their original boxes. The sellers usually have the good sense to say so in their listings, but still. I never buy them, but this one I had to get. On the other hand, one of my friends bought this same model from another online shop, and e-mailed me that his was in the same Rolls-Royce box. I mean, it does say "747-200" on the package. The photo is from the seller, and he's always given great service; very reputable on Ebay.

Re: This one's not in the database
Update: According to Jean at Moon's Mailorder, this model is so new that Sky500 didn't put them in the proper boxes; they just used whatever they had to pack them in. The back of the box says it's for an Iberia 747. All the Lufthansa Cargo 747 models they have had in stock have been in Rolls-Royce boxes with Iberia on the back. She says that this model is definitely a Sky500 and is marked on the plane itself. This issue (the box issue) is something that has supposedly come up before.

Re: This one's not in the database
Okay, this one's the one I'm talking about. The back of the window box is generic with a dimensions chart on it. There's no Iberia stuff on it as I was told before. I only have a few Netmodels and know that they put an @ on the underside, and know that they made the same model. There's not manufacturer markings on this one. I couldn't get a good camera shot of the underside. The flash obscured the details. Could be that Sky 500 took the Netmodels ones, and packaged them as their own. I bought this one through Moon's Mail Order on Ebay. He has some others that are packed into the "RR" boxes. Anyway, the build quality is good as are the printed graphics. Paint is good with plenty of gloss and no bubbles or rough/chalky textured paint under the wings (I find this a lot. They rarely put gloss under the wings.). The gears are definitely Netmodels ones, because the 2 middle rear gears are barely moveable. All my Netmodels 747's have the same gears. They don't dangle like Starjets do.

Re: This one's not in the database
The model needs to be verified that it is a different model from any Netmodels release before being added into a database, repackaged into a random box won't make the cut.

Re: This one's not in the database
I know. That's why I came to the "experts" on this site to see if they knew what was going on. There's another thread from another member asking about this same model in the same box. I guess, Sky500 could have taken an inventory of these from Netmodels and tossed them into a Sky500 box. I would say that if someone has the Netmodels version, then they need to say if it has a Netmodels logo on the belly; then we can go from there.
