finally started my international airport (heathrow inspired)

Hey guys, ive started to make that international airport that i mentioned earlier this year. It will be heathrow in 1:500 scale or similar set out to heathrow. It will have 2 run ways and it will have a central area exactly the same (bus stations, terminal entrances, multi story car parks etc) i love this airport and i want to wake up looking at it haha. I have started off by marking the central area out with pencil. It is not 100% to scale as that would be pretty difficult but its close enough

i have a picture of the progress so far

i am going to make a start on buildings including the famous radar tower at heathrow, this will take a year or so as i am abit short of money but when its complete it will consist of 4 boards each one will be 4ft by 8ft so it will be a good size

That should keep you busy for awhile. Look forward to seeing it finished. I wish I knew how to do this.

Wow, if you're trying to make a diorama similar to Heathrow in size, then that should take a fairly long time! Can't wait to see more progress

LHR is not an easy airport to replicate due to its size and diversity in airlines....good luck!!

I just love terminal 5 of Heathrow and when I am drawing my own airport, i still getting back to T5 because of the nice and easy buildings with the gates..

thanks mate, it will take a while haha i just love heathrow, i was going well with my newcastle airport but due to my garage door being left open the board was wrecked so this is my new project

yea

ive never seen a model of heathrow in this scale so a wanna take up the challenge. Im not too worried about the airlines just yet

i do like terminal 5

a did hear that they were going to make a terminal 6 on the northside of the airport a think

If you go onto Google maps streetview, that should give you a decent landside view
