I think he is the only person doing this type of modeling , between the herpa basic buildings / card buildings / and full artticital models .

Looks very nice. Is it T5 A or B? It seems like its A, with wide body gates! If so, I'd recommend asking him to switch it to narrow body gates as thats how the real terminal's set out, as in the pic above.

Hello all

Its Terminal 5 A at London Heathrow The terminal has gates on both ends for Normal jets up to 777s but along the front the gates are multi type that accomadates both types including wide body jets and the new Airbus .

So he is modeling it correctly narrow gates at the end and wide/narrow gates along the fr , its only 1/4 of the terminal being modeled as my room is limited , he has to add the airwalks , grass , and gate bulildings and the lighting system as it will glow green at nights and you can see the building main girders inside at the ft when lit , I am paying £450 for this model it is in 1:500 scale . I have asked him for a quote of the whole of terminal 5 A as I am so impressed with the model so far , and its not even finished as yet , he has quoted me £1000 for a model of the whole of T5A complete with the fr two taxi ways and taxi way lighting .

He is also developing a movement system for model airplanes , based on invisiable cat gut wires that uses small bogies on a track above the airport so you can land / taxi / take off , he even does a 1/500 Working transit train for linking airport terminals togetther.

It looks like he is really going into model airports in a big way , I have spoken to him on the phone quite a few times and he has got some great idear,s

I can reconmend him to you all

He has helped me with my idear,s quite a few times ..

£450!!!!
Thats an awful lot for just the main building!
No offence but It's not that good a job, I can see messy white lines and while the airbridges are accurate, they look a little flimsy.
I certainly wouldn't have paid that much!

Thanks for your comments , I do want the model to be like the real thing , i know that he has made the air bridges from wood , and that he has not finished the lines , I am posting as it develops .

I think the price i am paying is very cheap as that will include taxi way lighting , and working flood lights .

I look forward to your comments when he has completed it .

This looks ok, so far. Really, relly nice for a home made model. But for an architect model for £450? Well...
