The cars are actually 1:300 but the scale is closer to 1:400 than 1:300.

Here: 100 Unpainted Model Car Railway Scenery Scale 1:300 NEW - eBay (item 230423257027 end time Jan-19-10 01:43:41 PST).

Today I began re-installing blue lights, finished the white lights and hope to finish the green lights by tonight. I'm going to be home all day tommorrow so I can do some more work on the lights.

I'm almost done putting in blue lights, I'm hoping I have enough but here's a pic of some of my progress.

Re: Plans and Progress on Frank Luke Jr. Regional airport

I have about 20 more blue lights to put in but am on hold for a little bit (hopefully a half hour) because I have just burned myself between my thumb and index finger. I'm excited because after i finish theese blue lights, the main part of lighting is complete. The step after that is to go through with wood filler and fill in the holes surrounding each blue light and then sand it down. I have a special putty tool and sanding devices that are perfect for the job that I got from a specialty hobby website so hopefully that step will only take about 3 weeks. This has been a long, in some cases painful project but I am loving the results from all the work. I would like to thank everyone for their support and feedback on my project and hope you enjoy the end project as much as I do.

Re: Plans and Progress on Frank Luke Jr. Regional airport

After many days of thought, I have decided to take out the blue lights that I just replaced on the airport and replace them with either rice lights(if I can find them!) or fiber optic. It was a hard decision to make but I rather have a great looking airport than a cheap project that I can barely stand to look at.

With lights looks good.
I undestand your decision, normal LED are to big, for our scale.
Look at attached sketch, maybe it help you to reduce the costs,
and to give better impresion.

Re: Plans and Progress on Frank Luke Jr. Regional airport

Thanks for the info, I'm going to be using fiber optic cable, I found some on eBay pretty cheap and my light source will be a standard christmas light strand running around the area of the lights so I don't go through so much. I like your idea though, I may use it on another airport.

I finally got around to installing some lights today and I have to admit, the fiber optic looks GREAT! Hopefully I'll have it finished in the next month.

Re: Plans and Progress on Frank Luke Jr. Regional airport

I am making amazing progress on this airport. I re-did all the asphalt area along the sides of the taxiways, and have begun installing the Fiberoptic lighting. I can take some pretty daytime pics so here's some images of the progress:

I got it on eBay for $90 total. I was surprised to find one for that price.
