Exclamation How Make Professtional Taxiways! FREE

Hey Folks,

I just started making my model airport tonight but I thought I might share with you that my maths teacher at school taught me!! The technique used is really simple, and will make a perfect taxiway every time! Here are the pics, DO NOT CHANGE THE COMPASS DISTANCE AT ANY POINT, OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK!

Remember practice makes perfect, and always use a sharp pencil. Start from DSC00428 -> DSC00438, they are in stage order, even though the file name says otherwise.

Good Luck! Leave comments, but NO offensive ones, I don't spend my time to get that!

Awesome! Works absolutely perfect! Thanks so much! Taxiway lines was probably the biggest problem I've had so far. I can never seem to get them just perfect but now I can!

Not a bad idea, but a much simpler...and just as effective technique is to use a dinner plate, lid, or any other round object and trace around it.

Very nice trick, I'll be sure to be attentive to that detail while making my 3 new airports.

Re: How Make Professtional Taxiways! FREE

I was thinking the same thing: use a compass for taxi lines. I'm glad that someone else was thinking the same thing and actually started working on it. Thanks for the tip. Good idea. Now only if they made a good yellow pen to make the taxi lines with a compass; a red one, too.

Yes... but I am a perfectionist, and I work to exact scales, in my case: its 1:400.

Not really, its easy geometry (I am MATHS GEEK!!). It just take application as my teachers say. LOL. I am developing other easy and FREE techniques to improve the airport diorama, I'm making mine right now: sorry for the bad quality.

But I also like to give something back to the wings900 community, even though some just simply don't deserve it! (You know who you are!! )

Regards

Matt

I guess thats true.....I just throw something together and hope it comes out close to scale. Someday I might get good at making airports exactly-to-scale. Do you have any other pointers?
