Yeah, kinda hard to stick with it. Especially when your're building it from scratch. Since I don't have the time or skill to build my own, I just buy the Gemini Jets airport stuff. Waaaaaaay better than Herpa's in detail; it's also in a decent (and my favorite) scale: 1:400

Well I've been thinkin, Since I have hardly anytime to do this I am going to make an airport out of my herpa pre-fab buildings until I have time to Make the custom one.
