Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

So with the Delta/Northwest merger and the end of Northwest Airline's existance, how many of you are going to update your fleets? And if not for that reason how many are updating their fleets for the change in AA's fleets? I already sold off my Herpa 1:500 AA A300 .

Re: Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

Im not planning to get rid of/sell any of my aircraft. 1. I don't see the point, 2. ive worked hard to earn money for them, 3. Some of them were gifts from friends/family. Even though the airline/aircraft may not exist, it did exist at one time and i just don't think they will become more or less popular regardless of the fact that it may no longer exist.

Re: Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

I have a Northwest A330-300 and I am not yet sure what to do with it. I will be keeping it for several months, at least until March. It was a gift last March for my birthday and I don't want it to offend my parents who bought it. I also really like it, however I can possibly make money for more aircraft by selling it. It will have a gate at my airport surely for a few months to come, and possibly for a long time.

Re: Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

I will always have reserved gates for nwa at my airport. They will never share gates with delta, regardless of a merger.

Mergers shouldn't stop you from buying or selling any airplane. Why do you think they make classic schemes?

Re: Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

I have a special historic hanger for retired aircraft and I keep several aircraft in their boxes in a cabinet. As well as a maintance hanger with a TWA MD-83 inside. I like displaying updated fleets.

Re: Changing aircraft fleets on your airports

SouthwestAirlines, that's a great idea. I may open up a new terminal for retired aircraft. Maybe a hangar. But like I said, Northwest Airlines does and will for months to come have gates in my airport and will always have a place of prominence at SHI.

Yes, I'm going to keep my A330 and 744. Anyway, It's not like 400+ planes are going to be repainted overnight..

Yeh I am wondering too... I cannot imagine seeing so many Delta tails next to each at one pier... it would look so wrong. However I think Delta won't suspend all flights to Amsterdam cause then we will loose about 22 flights

About my airport. I will not ever replace my NWA planes (A330 and 753) Maybe I buy some Delta airplanes later but as many people said before. I have spend a lot of money to it and merged or not, I have Britannia and Germania as well

I'm with you on this 100%. Northwest was the first airline I ever flew on; it's quite special to me. Plus, I don't feel pressured to make my airport a representation of anything past, present, or future, it is just what I LIKE. So I've got Concordes and DC-8's and airlines from all over the place. It is my airport, so what the hay? To each his own, but I found it troubling that people would sell parts of their fleet, just because an airline had retired the aircraft.
