Hey guys,
I am wanting to create my own airport(small one to start of) but have a few questions -Is there a shop in Melbourne/Geelong that you can purchase items for the airport like Cars, those Food loading trucks, aircraft stairs, mini people, general cars, airport items etc......? -Where can I buy the mat from (that comes with lights), in shops or over the net -With aircraft sizes, are models usually 1:400 for the airport size, I dont want a huge airport as I'm limited to space -Is there help-guides around, on the net, or is there magazines out there that will help me out from newsagents? -I see some airports on here have roofs, windows, doors etc..Where did you get these, purchase them?, make them from paint?? -What would some of the basic items I would need for a airport? balsa wood, glue, paint????? -Where are good places to buy 1:400 models, ebay, on here??

Re: Getting Started (newbie!)
Hey, just search this in the forums and you will find BILLIONS of awnsers since someone asks this question nearley every 3 days. Most people make there buildings from paint but there are a tons of designs you can print and put on wood from your computer, there are also sets along the net made of cardboard... but are very detailed and you can buy for about 5 USD. A good place to get models would be AirlineMuseum.com which is were you can get most everything for your airport ( except building supplies) ebay is always good just make sure your not overpaying. Try using spray paint to cover the wood but remember to always sand it down!! Hope this is of help to you and good luck.

Re: Getting Started (newbie!)
What brand of the 1:400 planes have the best detail, as in not plastic, fully solid, great detail on the planes, and look VERY accurate, not models that look fake or done crappy.
Sorry, I have only bought Skymarks up till now as I loved them so much

Re: Getting Started (newbie!)
Personally, I like Gemini Jets but I don't have any Dragon Wings yet to make a comparison to. In my city there is only one place to buy models in person and they are limited at least American domestic airlines. I get mine on-line, I use Jetway Models alot and I have used the Airplane Superstore. Aerojets has a decent selection but they don't communicate with you and are really slow. I used Airport Designs for my buildings, and while they take a while I think the result was really sharp.
