WN737 is flying under the radar
San Luis Obispo (DGX) Nearing Completion

Well it's almost done. After over a year of planning and working on it it is finally coming together. I just bought a 4' by 8' board and cut it down to 4' by 5' and cut off part of a corner so there are now 5 sides to it. The terminal is ready to be painted and I'm deciding on which colors to use, most likely a few tans/browns. I will start working on the tarmac and hopefully have it done in the next week. Sorry, I don't have any photos but I do have a plan which has the basic set up of the airport. I'll have pictures once it opens in November.

Here is an update on the tarmac. I also included a small picture of the terminal which will be painted in the coming weeks.

What did you use to make the terminal?

I used Evergreen Plastics, available at the HobbyTownUSA in Rocklin, and cut them down to size. For the rounded parts I wrapped the plastic around glassware with thick tape and set it in boiling water for a few minutes.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll post more pictures as work continues.

I just finished painting the tarmac and I must say it is a lot shinier than I expected it to be. But I'm not going to fix it up, I'm done with spray paint and would be more than happy to never have to deal with any ever again. So I just need to put on the grass, make the detailed lines on for the taxiways and runways, and paint the terminal.

Please leave me some feedback.

For the grass you should use the woodland scenic stuff, not the golf course green where the blades look way to big, but the stuff that comes in sheets and is extremely good looking.

That looks pretty cool, I like your terminal building, ever considered making terminals and selling them? I would be interested if you are!
